BE AWARE!
Yes I got fucked today by my dealer. My bike came in which I put a deposit down on a settled price back in Febuarary. The dealer was unaware of the limited available. The first bike came in which was mine. They jacked the price up on it.. I know they could sell it for well over retail right now because there is no 14's in this neck of the woods. Yes I am mad as shit. But I didn't have a contract signed. Thats my fault but I just took their word for it.. Since I did business with them before. Watch yourself I will not be the first one..... I would also check your dealer inventory because the dealers will try to sell your bike out from under you for more money..

You say that like yer surprised.
Yeah, it sucks but business is business and with no signed contract they'll do whatever they want.
Sounds like a dealer that just wants ta sell bikes and could care less bout customer retention - that sucks too.

His word against theirs and with no supporting documentation there isn't much Kawi will do bout it.
Unless of course they get several calls bout the same dealer then mebbe they'll "look into the matter" but even then, I doubt much would happen.

I had a similar thing. My dealer was the only one in the county that claims they didn't receive their shipment, and wouldn't even give me a guess when it would be there. I was calling or stopping by every day, and they never called me back, not even once. I left a $2000 deposit, but no real contract. Last time I went up I talked to the sales manager and told him how is it that every single dealer in the county has one sitting on the showroom floor, and you can't tell me which month mine will be delivered, even though I was the only one with a deposit. His reply was, "well when they sell them, it will be sunny outside and I can sell mine for whatever I want". I cut my losses, took my $2k and bought elsewhere.
They lost 3 other sales through my friends for easy to get bikes (GSXR 1k, CBR600RR, VTX1800) that they had on the showroom floor because they wouldn't return my calls. They also had an FJR coming in that I had sold for no haggle msrp. They may have saved $1000 not selling the 14 to me, but they lost 4 bikes sales + parts and accessories just from my referals in the last 6 weeks. Not to mention repeat buys. Business must be good to throw that away.

Nixter, correct me if I'm wrong but if you put 2000 down Did you not get a deposit slip from the dealer? It's is not unreasonable to ask fora copy of the buyers order with the final price on it. NO it's not a contract but B/O's are not contracts either. Most dealers in good faith would sell the bike for the cost stated on paper. Here's some quick information when putting down a deposit.
1. Make sure you have a reciept. No exceptions to this rule Period. I'd can only suggest putting it on a credit card that way you can contest it. And it's easier to get your money back.
2. Ask for a copy of the buyers order (or whatever they call the paper with the numbers on it.). You may have to play hardball here but no deposit if no copy of the BO. Note: I said "COPY"
3. Finally make sure you agree to the number on the paper, and you understand fully what the numbers mean. We don't do OTD pricing but we can come within 200 dollars, some dealers may agree to a price minus taxes, don't go in blind.
Hope this helps.

I have been riding around on my 14 for a few days and I went back to my dealer for a new oil filter and rear stand. The owner came up to me and asked if I was willing to sell my bike, that I've been riding, for $1000.00 profit. I just gave him a funny look but he understood. There is some MicroShaftee (I live in Redmond, WA) that called from Germany that just had to have one when he returned to Redmond. I don't know what he was offering but I don't play those games . . . my favored toys are NOT FOR SALE!
Nicest bike I've EVER owned! Except our 502 Boss Hosses, we are selling all the rest because of this 1 bike.

What you guys trying to say? Yes I do have some bullshit that goes on.. My luck is going to turn.. I did have a good month.. Sold 155,000 this month and yes thats 10% commission. Not bad for a poor little white boy from NC. So money wasn't the issue it was just 700 dollars more just the principle.

Exactly what happened to me .... except the bike was paid for in full and a done deal......so i thought!
Deposit December 28, full balance paid April 1st, and deal cancelled by dealer April 22nd.
I imagine it was because I cut a deal for $2000 below MSRP, and they realized the supply demand issue.
That or Alta Kawi boy - Kawasaki rep- came through with his threat ?
I bought a Gixer instead.

You know motorcycle dealerships should be held responsible for thier action just as car dealerships do, (well most of them, respectable ones), working for Honda motor company I have seen them bend over backwards for customers. Motorcycle dealerships dont give a SHIT about there customers, Hell your lucky if you can get something covered under warranty, what is there favorite line, OH THATS NOT COVERED< ITS OUTSIDE INFLUENCE, I say its bull shit. CALL AND COMPLAIN. Just because a motorcycle is considered a luxury (in most places) they feel they can stick right up your ass, and that my friends,,, SUCKS ASS!!!
