Matt,
A good rain suit does wonders for keeping you dry.
Still I went to the dealer and I gave him more info than he gave me. STILL WAITING but soon very soon. My VFR crossed 133,000 km today thats 83,120 miles or so and I was really ready to retire that bike. Next week right??? Hey where have I heard that before.

Just curious ZX61.., is it on stock engine or did you do some work on it already. I had 1982 V45 Sabre (VF750S) and it had aprox. 56,000 miles (90,100 km) when I sold it, without any engine work whatsoever, except for valve adjustments. But, it sure felt tired by then.

I know, I'm a wimp, but riding in the rain with 100,000 other people trying to go home in the evening on I-35E through downtown Fort Worth just isn't my cup-o-tea. Plus, it'll get the bike dirty

Wow, that's some serious miles! Hope the new one comes in soon

Who said a little rain would hurt. Be careful and if there is no thunderstorms, ride with the wind brother. They still make water and soap! plenty of wax as well.

You know a dedicated rider would just don the rain suit and ride, but im with matt it sucks to ride in the rain not to mention it sucks to be cold!

I ride in the rain -- I have one piece BMW rainsuit...awesome, but I only do it when I have no choice, like when I'm on a trip. Matt is right rain=bad for bike and person cleaning. I have a philosophy: "Spend less time cleanin and more time leanin!"

Stock engine. Most will hate my thinking, but I keep everything stock including the planned 14. I have a 2002 VTEC VFR and I've really never had any problems whatsoever. I did one valve check at 48,000 miles and they were perfect. As far as feeling tired, well twist the throttle compared to one with say 30,000 miles and there is a difference but I'd hardly call it tired. Maybe mid-life, plus I have to be fair I'm anal about maintenence, and I do most myself....20-25,000 miles a year will cost me a ton of money.

I agree with fba's statement of "spend less time cleaning and more time leaning", not to mention that I like to have my bike in ONE PIECE... which if I was riding home in extremely heavy, stop-and-go, traffic for 25 miles on the highway, I would easily be a hood emblem on the front of a C3500 duelly. Just not my cup-o-tea.

Riding in extremely congested city traffic is a PITA enough, I don't need to do it on wet roads.
