Front brakelight switch adjustment

To follow-up my front brakelight switch issue in another post...

I checked the owners manual, there's actually a section about adjusting the brakelight switches. Sweet! I thought

The rear switch is obviously a piece of cake to adjust... pretty much a no-brainer, but there's a page of instructions on how to do it anyway. The section about adjusting the front switch pretty much says that it's not adjustable, take it to the dealer. Bullshit...

I removed the switch (have your super-stubby philips handy) and filed about 1/64th off the end. There's a tiny bump on the end of the plunger, I took that off, but it wasn't quite enough. I filed a little more on the square shaft and got it down to where I think it'll work well. I'll ride it and see how it feels with gloves on while riding. At slow speeds (stoplight stuff), you can hear the switch when you pull, so it should be easy to tell if I've adjusted it enough.

smokin - I'm just South of Fort Worth - about 4-5 hours from New Braunfels. My wife's from Kyle (also between Austin and San Antonio), so we are down there often, but not on the bike. I go on a "hill country" ride once or twice a year, maybe we can hook up sometime? My group usually does that ride on the first weekend in November and we stay in Kerrville.
