One more red one . . .
I just made the deal, it follows me home in 2 hours. Didn't have the riding gear with me.

I must say it is the smoothest inline-4 I've had the pleasure to ride! Does it have the low end grunt of a V-Max, nope but it still isn't too shabby. I haven't as of yet found a flat spot in the power curve but it is a CURVE, nothing at idle but builds from there. Kinda reminds me of some of the 12 cylinder engines made by the "Prancing Horse" car company, it just wants to get out and stretch those legs. I found the bike to be extremely responsive and light handling but don't take my word for it as I usually ride a 1400 lb. bike with a 80" wheelbase. I am glad I'm not any shorter (6'2") or I'd find the bar position a bit too low for my taste, as it is its fine and I find the leg position quite comfortable for my 32" inseam legs.
I do have one funny note:
Upon looking at the bike in person for the first time my wife found it " . . . ugly and unfinished." They had the bike behind the store where they were awaiting the battery to finish charging. After the comment and a thorough examination of the bike we went back inside the store so my wife and I could discuss it further in the shade; it was about 75 today and beautiful sunshine and we don't know how to deal with that kind of weather up here. My wife's comments were starting to bug me since I liked the look of the 14. We went back outside and she pointed out what she didn't like on the side. I asked, did you look at the other side Jane? She looked at the far side and said that looks MUCH BETTER!
On a nearby crate was a black piece of plastic and I held it up and asked, were you missing the look of this on there? I held up the straked side panel to it's proper position and she said, "I thought it looked unfinished." They had the battery out to charge it . . .

ZREXER, let me make it clear that there is NOTHING nice about my Kz1300-Turbo. I haven't ridded it in years and when I did, daily I might add, it ran slightly lean on two cylinders, way rich on two and slightly rich on two. You had to get the old cu#t running and the blow the fuel out of the other 4 by riding the hell out of it. For your trouble you got unpredictable wheelies, gas mileage in the teens and the HOWL of a high strung Indy car. The last time I rode it it blew an intake gasket, I wonder why at 27 lb. of boost, and then it proceeded to run like a POS.
Good points:
Howled like an Indy car - people would hear it coming in Daytona Beach ( I went to college there) and turn around and look for it, 1/4 mile in ADVANCE.
5th gear at 150 mph pulled like my '85 V-Max in 1st.
Would turn a corner, well sort of . . .
Bad points:
The modified snowmobile carb and induction made it run bad at anything but under boost. It would run at 150 mph with NO boost. You get the picture . . .
Howled like an Indy car and attracted "Officer Friendless," the guy/gal that likes to sell expensive pieces of paper.
Sucked the tank dry QUICK!
Regarding the Boss Hoss:
There is NOTHING that the Boss does better than the 14 except cruising down the highway/freeway. I'm sold, the 14 is one hell-of-a-bike! Am I selling my Boss? No, but it will be relegated to the cruiser department since it has the lean angle of a car and the gas mileage of one of my military vehicles. They do, however, put a smile on your face . . . even if no one else is looking. They are just too STUPID not to be fun.
BTW If I made a few mistakes in the above, please forgive, I am DRUNK celebrating the nicest motorcycle I've ever ridden, the ZX14.
