Take GM's way of changing oil. It is regulated to change the oil at 100% increments. It's based on engine revolution and temperature, not mileage. The computer regulates this. When the percentage clock runs down to 70%, it equals approx. 3,000 miles on the OD.
Once, I let the oil run somewhere in the 60% range. The oil turned much darker than at 70%. My point is: Do I follow "book" and let (a lot dirtier) oil pump thru my engine all the way to 100%? The hell I will.

Fa-fu-fa-fuck the factory books fish! Was that a fair enough example?

Like beating a dead horse, isn't it fish? You have yet to complete one simple logical sentence explaining the book's value. "White coat" is your stance though, I understand.

What's really funny, (and sad) is the ever popular... "You have to fluctuate the throttle speeds." I love that one. Especially when (spinning) parts float between oil, and the wear pattern shows up not at break-in, but 50,000 (or more) miles later... and that's if you want to check cylinder taper for one obvious area of wear.

I don't expect jack shit to change after all is said and done.
Let the wife's tales continue.

Another thought about "breaking in".
Apart from the technician who did the pre-delivery inspection, who probably just went around the block once, you are the first person to really ride the motorcycle. Even if you are a wring-it's-neck-straight-from-the-crate kind of rider, surely it makes a bit of sense to go easy for a few miles ????
