Was there ever a problem ?

I dont think so ....... Every since the bikes were rumored to be sitting somewhere
gettin fixed / repaired since March may not be true.

Looking at the production date of my bike, which is 3-06, I might think that production
was late starting. Kawasaki might have had a production line problem, but I dont think
they were ever over here getting "fixed".
I cant say I know ........ but I dont care anymore, im glad I waited, the bikes BadAzz.

Interesting. The bike is hot off the production line. Consider that it takes about 4 weeks for the boat ride and another week for customs and transport on each end.

Actually, your bike was produced back in 03 of '00...They just stamped a 6 over the 0. This bike is the original zx12r design. Remember the 12R delay? That was to produce the bodywork that marketing demaned over the more efficient design of engineering.

Like I've said numerous times... it takes time to design, test, build, assemble, package, ship , distribute a product.

I think the real problem here is that everyone is so used to the "instant" response from things like the Internet that they forget that physical objects take finite amounts of time to produce.

Try building a house, or 10,000 houses. Build them all at once.

Why arent they done now?

How about now?

Now?

okay... what about now?

I think they were put back because of the rush to get the '06 ZX-10 completed. After that they would have to re-tool the assembly line and change alot of design programing to bild the ZX-14. All that takes time and if zxbob's bike is stamped 03/06 then they have done a damn fine job of getting this batch of bikes delivered when they did. Kawasaki motorcycle devision is pretty small compared to Honda, Yamaha and Suzuki, Kawasakis are everywhere so I don't think alot of people are aware of that fact..

why? so you could have a detuned ZX-14 engine in a twinspar chassis?

Buy a ZX-14 and throw hard bags on it IMHO.

The GTR 1400 is the touring version of the ZX-14 (ZZR-1400) that VPN seems to think that Kawasaki will build someday.

I'm not the only one to think so!
Also you should read the Kawasaki papers about the design of the ZX-14
where they learly staed that Europeans want hard bags and a shaft drive
Still they rather build a bike for American market; The Ninja - greatest ever!
The GTR-1400 _will_ follow 2007 for sure
The ZX-14/ZZR-1400 will be a huge suggess and
based on that KHI will release the GTR-1400
