I just got the first call from my dealer...
Ok guys, take with a grain of salt, but my dealer has not BS'd me AT ALL through this entire process...
The GM at my dealership just called me (first time he's actually called me, not just returning one of my calls) and told me that his rep called him this morning and told him that his first ZX-14 (red) is in the local distribution warehouse in Irving. He checked his computer and confirmed the same.
The rep said that it would be on a truck headed to his dealership today or tomorrow at the latest.
I'm starting to get excited now... I just wish it was BLUE #@$*&!%#!!!!

True, but i have never found anything as durable as the factory finnish, 2 wheels or 4.

Ya get what ya pay for, $600.00 is prolly a lil low.

For what it's worth, I called my "second" dealer right after my first dealer called. He called the Kawi order desk and they gave him the standard "end of April, first of May" pitch.
I trust my first dealer though - he's always seemed better informed, plus he moves a lot more sportbikes than my second dealer.

I may like the red, it all depends on what it looks like in natural light. I've only seen it at the motorcycle show, and it was up on a stand with all sorts of funky lighting. We'll see...

All my gear, helmet, leathers & fabric riding suit are in a blue/black theme, so I'll hang in for a blue bike, black would work as well. Have to stay colour coordinated!!

The colour coordination thing does not fly so well with green...layering it on to much is like staring at kryptonite! 
I now have a bright yellow Berik suit with a yellow Arai on a green bike; can't park for more than 10 seconds at the side of the road before the bugs attack me like I'm a sunflower.

I just called all 7 dealers near me, here's what I found out:
- 3 have absolutely no idea what's going on or when they will receive their bikes
- 1 told me that he expects his bike by Friday, does not no what color
- 3 told me that they expect their bikes (1 ea) by Friday, each of the have confirmed red
Damn red bikes are all over the place!!!

Red bikes coming first is not an accident. Kawasaki knows the black, then blue are most popular. They figure people are so desperate to get their hands on this bike they will take the less popular red ones.

I'll take one in olive drab . . . or I could make it REALLY special and do a proper "rattle can" paint job with overspray on all lenses and tires. By the time the 14 arrives you guys will be so pissed off I'l be able to name my price at the dealer. ;^)

Ok Guys this is it (My dealer) just called and said" I have a red ZX 14 for you it came in the door this morning and is being prep'd as we speak" So I ride it red for awhile and Paint it any color i want when ever I want. Will take pics ASAP. Gene

I am waiting on someone who has actually purchased and has the bike in his care. Not saying it is not true, but we have heard "pick it up on Saturday" too many times.

EASY, you must think this is some sort of mass conspiracy...why would a dealer call Tool man and lie to him saying it was in and is being prepped now? There's nothing so great about this bike that all the dealers and Kaw would have to conspire about, you know...it's only a fucking bike, not a nuclear warhead. I believe Toolie'll be getting his bike within 24 hours...WTG Tool man! Glad to hear you'll be getting her in the next day or so!

I agree guys - it's all hard to believe until we see a picture, but I don't think it's an accident that so many dealers are actually saying that their first bike is confirmed to be here in a day or so.
I'll get a picture up as soon as I can - hopefully on or about Friday
ZZR - don't know about that newspaper gig... I haven't bought one of those ancient pieces of communication in *years*

Zematt, might be premature (doubt it though) but congrats on yer new baby! Fuck the dyno charts, just let us know how she feels once you get her? Though I might also be posting that info tomorrow or Friday too! BTW, Newspapers are good, they make for excellent reading while dumping in the morning, hell -- ya can even use em to wipe up if ya run out of TP!

Any way its true NO B/S I went down to Kelly's Kawasaki in Mesa AZ. and bought the bike, But Check this out. As some of you know my beautiful wife had surgery today nothing major and she is fine. But here I sit with a brand new bike and a brand new set of boobees on the couch and I can't play with either right now!! GOD is testing me I think. But tomorrow I will be riding to work and will post and give my thoughts. I am working on posting a picture may need some assistance. TM

Right on. The other reason is that this first batch of bikes was undoubtedly originally slated to be showroom display bikes. The brightest color always attracts the most attention, even though the vast majority of people buy a more subdued color.
I called my dealer and they said they had two arriving in about 7 days. He said if they have no clue what color they will be. If one is blue it's mine, as I have the first (and only) deposit on a blue bike. He hinted that he suspected that a red bike would arrive. This seems likley with the other info posted. If the black bikes arrive I'm toast. There are two people in front of me.

You can put some great quality miles on this sunday! I have a 2000 ZX12 and we are going to make a Payson Run. We will meet at the Shell Gas Station up in Fountain Hills at 6:20 a.m. This is just off the beeline (87) at Shea Blvd. We will run up to Payson for a nice breakfast and then run back down. You should be home by 8:30 to help the wife with what ever she may need!
