Did anyone consider the possibility of Wheel Spin?!
It is VERY possible leaned over, especially with how quick the RPM's spiked!

Wheel spin at 220? Not likely unless your pushing over 350-400HP...

The speedo picks up off the front wheel.................. so wheel spin would not explain why the speedo buried itself so quick.

Mebbe 10 years ago but now most bikes read their speed off the countershaft sprocket in one way or another.

zrexer - These new fangled bikes don't have the old school drag-inducing speed-o drive cables like your ZRX and my ZZR1200... they've moved on
Everything on the dash now is digitally driven by the engine computer and the Controller Area Network (CAN).

Showing my age..........................!! My SV 650 has the pick up off the front wheel for the digital read out speedometer, so I thought this was still common to read off the front wheel..............now I know...........I'm smarter than I was yesterday!

Face it guys...that video is the real deal, the bike is just a fucking monster and that's that. What's so hard to believe how hard that fucker pulls goes at 220? For those of you who have owned a Busa, you know what I'm talking about, for those that haven't but have a 14 on order, that was a little taste of what you can expect, if ya have the balls.

Not hard to believe at all, my turbo'd 1400 (1300 bored .100 over) pulled like that at 150 mph and it made around 300 hp at 27 lb. of boost, on a MUCH heavier bike.
I don't have the balls for that kind of riding any more, I think my wife and kids took them when I was sleeping . . .

That 14 was NOT doing the Speedo Indicated speed.
You also do not need to ride an "Eye Abusa" To know what high speed excelleration feels like!

You are probably right; the speedo would probably be off by about 8.5%, but it don't matter...because the bike accelerates like that at 220 or 280, so if its off, it still doesn't matter much, for had he accelerated at 240 indicated (which would have been around 220) you would still have seen the speedo wind just as quickly. And BTW...I'm not saying that the only way you would feel that sensation is on a Busa, but face it -- there aren't many stock machines out there that can pull like that at those speeds...

Don't get me wrong here....The thrust on this bike is very impressive!!
However, you must be talking km's per hour, not mph.

Of course, funny thing you are not sure about that fact, I never saw 280mph on a speedo and it's not going to happen soon...

The production Zx-14 top speed will be the same as the Busa or 12R, roughly 300 kph.

Uh... yeah... that's why the speed-o in the video being discussed was in metric units
The swing was around 220kph-280kph
