WOW! The bike that started it all for me, the 750 Honda wasn't quite right. I had to wait for a '76 Kz900 for my first bike 'cuse I was too young in '73.

If the #s match...get it on ebay. A lot of the older folks that started riding when that came out now have the cash to get it and they're willing to pay a ton of money for one. Absolute minimum he should let it go for local would be $10k. That bike looks as clean as it gets.

'cept for the Honda 750, it pretty much started this whole 2 wheel power competition.
I rode on back of one, when a kid, I was addicted.

Not meaning to thread jack, but it is amazing how light duty everthing looks on the bike. The frame, forks, rear shocks look pretty light duty compared to any of todays bikes. The frame in particular seems more suited for a 250CC powered machine.

The bike is in great shape for a 33 year old machine. A real modern classic. Get the right buyer that is dying for this machine and it should be worth quite abit.

ZREXER...everything that you mention IS light duty on those bike...I have owned 2...1 was a low mileage 76 which I sold...the other 76 I still own..if you ever have a chance to ride one of these evil handling bikes you will gain a high level of respect for the guys that raced these bikes.I could not imagine having a to wrestle a high horsepower Z-1 around a race track....All the older Kaws ..Z-1's,KZ's,Z-1R's are all very desireable bikes....now if I had some extra money I would search around for a nice Turbo Z-1R...in Silver Metallic Stardust Blue please!
