Insurance Costs?

This is directed at the Canadian members and in particular the Alberta members. Has anyone done any preliminanry shopping for insurance quotes for the '14?

I'm not sure if the insurance companires have any information on this bike yet (probably a good thing!) Of course they love it when they hear the magic words........'Ninja' & ZX............you can here the 'kaching sound' of a cash register

I'm guessing they will want a full alarm system. I gather Scorpio is working on a ZX 14 specific harness for their system already.

Yeah, JD insurance in St. Albert quoted me $ 1100 , no collision.
Includes PL PD, fire theft and vandalism.
Through Optimum West I believe.

My record is not stellar

Did they require an alarm system? My bike is stored in my garage which is alarmed (tied into my house alarm system). I drive a company vehicle during the day, so my bike rarely sits any where unattended.......so an alarm for me is just another expense for me that I would rather avoid.

I hate not to carry collision on a brand new bike, as the bike gets older I would drop it.

I've only got 2 points on my license..............more good luck on my part than anything else. I do any high speed runs, way, way out in the boonies though!

In FInland you can get the excess/deductible (users share) 151 euros
[in my current company Tapiola] away => 0
if you have an approved alarm
That is you full insurance covers it all (not sans 151 euros)

I've got both car and house at SSQ, that explains it. They just added the 14 to the existing car policy. I got the quote in mid november 2005 and got it refreshed in late feb. So it's good 'til mid may at least. Hope the fucking bike'll be here by then...

That said, I'm in St-Hubert. Where' you at?

I'm in DDO, spoke to Kawi Canada this week...they say late April! Let's hope...and I'll let ya know about Primmum when I get it ...in any case, SSQ's rate is great...three other companies I called were over 2K and 3 more that won't even touch it. I was paying 14 for the Busa and I pay about that for the R1 and the 10R with Primmum now.

Eh tabarnac moé là...

My dealer, Super Moto St-Hilaire, is still sticking to "beginning to mid-april"... Who's right and who's wrong???

I'm getting sick and tired of speculating. I got my fucking Super 7 ticket today and have to speculate about that too: where will the new mansion be located, how many sq feet will have, one or two maids?... It's all leading fucking nowhere!!!

ANGST!!!

I got the numbers mixed,

Full coverage a year at State Farms.....$423.15 for $50,000/$100,000 with $500 deductable.
or $451 a year for $100,000/$100,000 and $500 Ded.

Not with a bike, but yes if you have car and want the cheap corvette insurance you must add all of your cars, they quoted me $276 a year for the ZX14 if I added my truck, but their price for regular vehicles is normally higher so I'm just getting the bike coverage.
