Curious about crash protection on a monocoque

Hey fellas,
I was wondering what were/are the opions out there for this new zx-14. Being unfamiliar with even the zx-12 were/are there any solutions in the area of crash sliders? For me they tend to be the first things I put on my bikes, but I've only ever had the twin-spar type.

What if there aren't any bolts on the side of the block?

Looks like you have one bolt to choose from...if that's even a bolt. Can't tell because of the low resolution.

I would rather risk the fairings instead of a cylinder head...if you plan on using crappy aluminum sliders, fahgettaboutit.

look at the frame , above the rearsets.
Here is the kit

My wife is from Germany.
Going over in May.
Might look into importing some for the14!

radiator will be most susceptible for our zx14's I think.
Can't remember where i saw a good shot.
Bottom corner o the rad is exposed to damage!

swingarm spools and sliders:

Lockhart Phillips has 'em listed from many vendors for the ZX14 now. Have to imagine they bolt on somewhere, hopefully a no-drill too!

I heard there's an airbag option on it.

Isn't this frame essentially the same as the 12R frame? How do 12R sliders mount?

I've never had sliders, but I am seriously thinking about it for this bike...

I assume you are talking about the cylinder bank for the upper sliders and if so thats not a good idea.

I would trade a cracked cylinder head for a bashed fairing any day.

You have not seen what happens in reality
The crash protectors do work, man!

Sure we have some 12R owners here that can answer this question:

Isn't this frame essentially the same as the 12R frame? How do 12R sliders mount?

Still no firm info on this issue huh?

I really think the option to mount them are pretty vital, imagine in a minor fall (gravel, sand, etc) at a low speed, an 'offing' can damage not only your faring, but the clutch cover, sator cover, radiator and hoses, etc, making the damage caused one that will negate the ability to just pick the bike up and keep going. I think it's sucks when a minor spill forces you to call a tow truck and have to do the ramen soup thing for a month just to pay for the damaged bits and pieces and a set of $60 sliders could have saved all ot that headache.

It looks as though 'Dubious' has posted the only items viable so far, but those look rather low and far enough back that they look like a solution for the clutch and sator covers but not for the faring/radiator area in general. Thanks for the post, at least it's one option.

I'm really curios to know what the folks with the zx-12's did if anything.

the best you can do to the zx12 is to put a stronger magneto cover, and those german sliders.

Them german sliders, including ones on the front fork tubes and on the rear end of the swing arm, look like a good solution to me.

Thanks Marcos - I was sure that someone had looked into the 12R options before this new 14 came along. If that's the best option, I guess that's what we will use.
