Hello and... bad news

Hi, this is my first post and I regret to start with bad news...

I'm from Spain and ordered a ZZR 1400 six months ago. I've just received an email directly from Kawasaki Spain (not the dealer) saying that there is a delay in the production and unfortunately the bikes will arrive mid of May...

I don't know if it's a worldwide delay but I think so, at least for Europe. I wish you americans have better luck but I wouldn't be optimistic.

Sorry for such bad news but I think it's worse to have false expectations.

Glad I have my SV 650 still..............I'd be choked if I had no bike come spring. If it is as late as mid may, I'm still cool............any later, I'm going to get a little upset. Our riding season is so short as it is.

I have decided to wait to order my bike. I want to see if any problems crop up.
I couldn't stand not having a bike. I hope they arrive in April. I really want one.
I may not have the first one on my block. But I just think there are to many questions.
I have a FJR and waited and waited for it until the fun was gone. I love the bike but
some of the fun is just to have the bike when you want it.
Good luck to all and I will be waiting.
Steve

How would Kawasaki know a potential buyers email address?

I will go out on a limb and repeat what I heard in Daytona. I was told that the 14 should start to arrive at dealers on March 23 (or in 2 days). I've talked to a dealer in Jacksonville who says he delivered one. OK having said that, another dealer confirmed that the Jacksonville dealer could have in fact delevered the bike last week. We will see in 2 days if the Kawasaki guys are on the up and up. Also the shop mentioned that the ZX10's arrived early so there's some hope. If in fact the ZZR-1400 is held up to May I suspect it will have more to do with governing and making sure this beast meets the EPA emissions for Europe. Man wouldn't be great if the ZX-14 bikes pushed 205 mph and the ZZR-1400 well did 186 mph. One has to ask themself 186 or 205 in the end what's the difference?..Oh yea bragging rights

Same here in England. We heard yesterday that due to worldwide demand, meaning you lucky people across the pond, our bikes will be arriving in late May.

Don't know how I feel about this yet but I'm not very happy as half the season will be over before we receive them.

Yep,

America are getting ALL of the first run of bikes, such is the demand.

The UK bikes were all sold out as well but I think they are trying to make a splash with it in America which is it's biggest potential market.

I don't care when the bike gets here. I have the first of three bikes my dealer gets, and until; then, the ZX12R will do just FINE!!

Odd that the US gets preference on this particular motorcycle... heck, we don't even get HALF of the motorcycles that Europe gets, but we're 1st on the list for this one? That makes no sense to me.

Does this type of "big bike" really sell more over here in the US? I wonder what CBR1100XX, 'Busa, and ZX-12R sales numbers between the US and Europe are? Seems like Europe buys twice as many motorcycles as we do.

I remember when the released the FJR in Europe, the US had to make a lot of noise to have a US version made. Why would it be the opposite with the ZX-14/ZZR1400?

My dealer also told me today, that the US market will be first to get them.
Germany as biggest market in Europe will get them end of april or first week in may.
Same information from Kawa Germany to the dealer since a couple of weeks.
