Naturally a 2006 release with bigger displacement and all those released figures and test drives will beat a 1999 release and it will do it in every possible way!
That's it and you better learn it early!

i've always had faith!
They beat the Busa in many ways when the first 00 ZX12R came out! IMHO!

Why else would you buy ome? I had the best Busa a 99 and it stunk! I really tried to like it but could not!

I guess I'm different!

Who else had Busa's that went to Kaws' ZX12's I mean?

Rubber Pants: I have test ridden both bikes
and since the 12R lacks torque under 3000 rpm
it's more of a large supersport than sport-touring
Busa is better, but now we have the ZX-14 !

I already know that the zx14 will dominate but I have a lot of non believers down here where I race ( street race) and they have a lot of faith in the busa and the GSXR grand! They say the 14 is too damn big!

Seeing is believing....wait till they go up against the beast...these Busa guys think there's only one bike in the world...very narrow minded bunch.

I think the stock for stock, same rider , 05&06 GSXR 1000 will beat the zx14, except for comfort.

You mean on the strip, or the track?

Everywhere but comfort !

NEW 05' GSXR 1000 ,
100 lbs lighter.
$2300 less.

From the HARD NUMBERS page in the back of motorcyclist magazine:
Quickest roll on times and .....1/4 mile was GSXR 1000, and already had all others beat by over 1/10th second .
Busa included

Seems about equal to what the zx-14 trumps the busa
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm hav'in dejavu here, seen this about 6 years ago I think.
Bad gut feeling.
Waiting, anticipating........ better not be dissapointing ......again.
Oh and now people are hearing may for 1st shipment to states, probably = June for Canada
Hell the GSXR even beats the zx-14 to the dealers!

Don't think that in the 1/4 mile, you would be correct. The liter bikes, fast as they are, have a harder time consistently achieving the numbers to beat the Busa on the strip. In roll-ons at lower revs, the Busa takes all; nothing will touch it, until you get past 6k or so. One mag alone won't tell you the true picture, especially if the test rider can't ride, which happens all the time in these rags. On a track, the ZX10R and the Gixxer will eat these Hyperbikes, but not on the strip. I have a 10R, have ridden the Gixxer extensively and have owned Busa's and spent time on the track regularily, and the Busa trounces the liter bikes in lower rev roll- ons. They have so much bottom end TQ, it's scary.

EDIT: In Canada the 14 and the K6 are about the same money...13.5k or so.

In Canada the best deal I could find is $14,000 OTD before Taxes.
MSRP is $15,600 just the bike, no PDI, freight noda!
I can buy a NEW 05 GSXR 1000 right now for $12,200 and ride it tomorrow, not July!
Or 06 GSXR 1000 for $13,300 and ride tomorrow!

Motorcyclist Mag #'s:
top gear 60-80 MPH roll on:
Busa 2.7 sec
05 K1 2.46 sec
04 zx10- 2.67 sec
zx12r - 3.17 sec

1/4 mile:
05K1 1/4 = 9.79 @ 148
Busa 1/4 = 9.88 @ 143.4

Put 4" extension on swingarm for consistancy and say By By Baby!

You may be right, but it is so close it hardly counts .... stock for stock same rider. IMO

(Of course same rider knows clutch modulation, launching with Rpm between peak torque and peak HP , and clutching out of the hole, slipping clutch to prevent wheelie, not closing throttle etc...)
Beleive me, I wish the best for the ZX14, and hope its all that, but I will not wait till June for any bike.

You can't go by the mag times. They don't list who rode it, temperature, DA, rider weight, track conditions...none of the things that affect ET.

We already know a zx14 with a couple of parts will go 9.0-9.1. A gsxr 1000 can't do the same unless it's a fully SS prepped bike, even then I haven't heard of one going faster than 9.2.

12.2K isa great price for the gixxer, I have not seen them under 13.2...I paid 13.2 for my ZX14, and it will be here in 3 weeks or so, not June. Not much riding to do till then anyway at sub sero temps with snow here in Montreal. I would love to see the Gixxer (in stock trim) do a 9.79...mags are rags...and a lotta of the time, fuil of crap. And btw, when you quote numbers on 2 bikes, they should done at the same track under the same conditions...to be fair. The 9.88 number for the Busa was a number that was published years ago.
