ZX 14 Time

just watched that video with rickey gadson coaching a guy making a couple of runs at the STRIP which by the way i paved! i worked for Las Vegas Paving,,anyhow,,the time of 9.97,, how does that stack up to a stock 12r time,, and the new busas 06 times,,, stock??
the reason i ask is my lil brother had a choice and chose the 06 SE busa in white,, over the '14,, and im wondering how it will compare,, even though i have a decade and a half over him under my belt when it comes to riding..
what are the realistic numbers
12r stock
06 busa stock
14 stock
????

That vid was done at 3500ft elevation...so it's a bit slower than it would have been if it was at sea level...probably a 2-3 tenths difference.

12r vs busa is practically the same. 9.9-10.0 100% stock.

busa vs zx14, 14 will be 1-3 tenths faster depending who is on it, I would put the 14 in the 9.6-9.8 range.

Keep in mind that these are the most average times, I know some people have gone way faster and way slower on 100% stock bikes. These are just the times I would expect to see with a decent rider.

If your bro is an average joe, it doesn't matter. An average to bad rider will be slow on anything.

not to be a pain,, but the elevation at in Las Vegas is nowhere near 3000,, in actuality,,it is in the 2200 range,, the Hot Plant (Asphalt) is right off Las Vegas Blvd,,which is less than a half mile from that track,, i raced jetskis on lake mead ,,and we all know compression with the two strokes are directly effected by altitude,, so that is one thing im sure of.
BTW,,1100ZXI Kawasaki Jetski,,MRD mechanical fuel injection,,and all the top secret stuff
i was the king of the lake for 4 seasons!,, saddle cove was my house,,and that 1996 ski was doing 67 MPH on radar,, i would smoke brand new stock Ultra 150s like a bad cigar!
thanx for the time info jimmy.
that track is directly across the street from Nellis AFB,,i used to work at the NTS which is 110 miles outside of town,, near Indian Springs AFB,, you can find elevations close to what your talking out there in some places.

I should have been a little more clear, the altitude was corrected to 3500ft on the weekend they tested the bikes in Vegas because of the atmospheric pressure from the weather.

Edit: that info came from Brock's article.
