ZX14 options or accesories
I hear tell of some accesories or options for the 14. Like a centerstand w/ grab handle or a undertail fairing of some sort.. Whats the Deal????

the centerstand is an option. Yes.. it comes with knurled handles to help lift it onto said stand.

Has anyone ever bought an optional centerstand before? I'd like one, but I'm afraid what Kawi might charge for such a device. What do you guys think we're looking at... $50... $100... $150?

Track stands are great, but a center-stand is much easier for regular chain lubing (especially on multi-day trips) and the center stand gives you more room while removing the rear wheel. I had a Pit Bull stand for my ZRX... I don't miss that at all!

Thanks Drowland... I just wish it didn't cost that much. That sounds like an aftermarket piece, I'd probably go with the factory part if the price is comparable (or less! ).

I think with the centere stand option you lose the small bit of fairing under the bike that bolts on somewhere near the bottom suspension linkage. So if ordered from the factory with the centre stand the price would be somewhat similar because you are then not paying for the bit of plastic and mounting brackets. To buy from Kawasaki spares would cost a small fortune (IMHO) plus you would be stuck with the fairing part too.

Unfortunately, in the US, we don't have the option of ordering our 14's from the factory with a centerstand. We will have to order it from the parts (spares) counter and wait for delivery. I agree that having that little piece of plastic to store will be a nuiscance, but the next owner in a few years may not want a centerstand, so it would be nice to give that little piece - in new condition - do him
We'll see how much the dealer/Kawi charges for it as soon as dealers can look-up and price parts/spares...

Oh yeah good point, we don't in Oz either as a matter of fact I have no idea how mine is comming or when. Hoping it will have the rear cowl and the little bit of fairing underneath. It had better get here soon though, I don't do well with patience ......One thing I do know is that my dealer and his lackeys read this forum. So to the guys.............WHERE'S MY F'ING BIKE!
