The clutch failure is service related PK. It is not an engineering failure. I meant a design problem. I was thinking more of a factory recall. Say the cam chain slipper was revised, and didn't work. That's when you walk away from the engine family and let it die. I'm willing to take a chance with a first year any bike from the big 4.

Jim, I read the mis-shift was on RG's personal 14 at the opening drag meet. I read nothing about shifting the bike at LV? Just a clutch failure....which is impressive out of 12 bikes used that day if I remember the number?

Clutch is not service related if you live in Canada.
In Canada Kawasaki's says it's not service related.

I guess it depends which side of the line you live on, because it is the same bike.

Oh my God! How did we eveeerrrr live without a slipper clutch!

Umm, clutch control and skill?

Are we just breeding less talented riders with slipper clutches and abs just like we are with traction control, electronic stability control and abs in cars?

I'm all for technology, but where is the line of the vehicle driving you instead of the other way around drawn?

I liked the slipper on the track.

I agree with the slipper clutch for the ZX-10 & 6R, but for the 14 how many owners are going to take this bike to a road-race track? You damn sure don't need one for the drag strip,............ do you?

NO! In fact people are doing stuff to get rid of it for drag racing!

Ummmmm me. I think it's the only place I may see close to top speed without risking my license or life due to some cager doing something foolish, a car can come up pretty quick if it's travelling at 100km/h and you are doing close to 300km/h on a bike. It will be hard enough to keep the right wrist under control at legal speeds as it is, got to avoid the 4k rpm flat spot you know

Dude u suck. I hope yours come in PINK

If he ordered a red one, the quality of the Kawasaki paint job should make it go pink within four years....

Happened to my Candy wine red ZZR1100.....

IT'S NOT PINK DAMMIT!!! It's magenta!!

not Pink anymore...

Right, we all ordered ZZR1100C1's when we had only seen them in photo's. They did look kind of red and Kawasaki called it red so we put it down to poor photgraphic reproduction. When they arrived we were shocked !!!!! pinky-magenta at the very least. The only saving grace was that it blitzed anything else in a straight line.
