its 1975 all over again

...this ZX-14....the present future of the original Z-1, my very first bike...I haven't even ridden one these time-machines yet, but I just know that it'll fit me for all the good reasons....if it has at least the power of my 12R and as a bonus is more ergonomically friendly to my more mature body, then this is one of the bikes that I must have in my garage...I feel as if its 1975 all over again....the anticipation....that giglling kid inside you that's just jumping up and down "I wannit! I wannit! I wannit!"...even at 50....amazing...the general cager will never "wannit", will never understand the intoxicating allure of two-wheeled transportation....but this isn't mere transportation,...its transmutation, if there could be such a thing....you and machine become one in that single electrifying instant when you inexplicably hear no mechanical sound when you're riding WFO....sorta' like riding inside a tubed wave (for those who have been there...I've been there at least a dozen times in my early lifetime living in the Islands)...all that speed and cacophony going on around you, but all you hear is your steady breathing inside your head as you ride that ride of cobalt blue)....doesn't last as long as the ride itself, but its there over and over again during that ride on our alloyed machines....man, its 1975 for me all over again.....
