curious george wants to know
...how did all of these drag racers and custom makers get their hands on a ZX14 so early to do their fantastic deeds?...are they sponsored by KAWASAKI?....is this an orchestrated dance by KAWASAKI prior to the bike's release to the general public to create a frenzy?...it takes time to develope aftermarket parts for any new bike,...some of these special 14s already have some special parts on them...how so?

I remember hearing about Rob Muzzy and Ricky Gadson's early bikes back in November/December. My guess is that Kawasaki delivered pro-production bikes to these guys and the custom paint guys so they could have some stuff to show off by launch date. I'm sure it's all about marketing and getting the word out early... and having them in the hands of reputable aftermarket guys and tuners goes a long way toward building public confidence and opinion.

Likely just some good advertising.
If the pre-prod bikes are like pre-prod cars then they will all be crushed at some point - like quite a few of the vehicles seen at SEMA etc, cars are on loan or "sold" for $1.00 with the understanding that they will return to meet their fate someday soon.
