Mike Graingers ZX12R, no Turbo or Nitrous, does 212mph electronically timed. You don't need to wait for Kawasaki to do it for you.

Apparently Mike Grainger has done *something* to his bike 'cause a 12R sure-as-hell isn't capable of that speed stock... unless he had a 20mph tailwind!

Don't have "precise" details but roughly it's a slight overbore with some gas flowing and higher compression ratio. Plus hours of careful blueprinting. Point is it's a road legal, conventionally aspirated motorcycle. Do you know any faster?

Yep.

DaveO's bike is considerably faster...In a standing mile no less. Yes, it's all motor.

Dosen't look very road orianted with lowered rear and strapped frontend. I sracthed even my stock height fairings so I upped the rear a little. Allthough the primary reason was for faster turnin.

Correct, the front strap is way too low for the road and the bike also tends to fall off the sidestand when strapped down. It's only pulled down, though, for top speed runs at events which tend to be straight line stuff on airfields.

The original reason for my post was to diplomatically point out that there is another way, besides waiting for Kawasaki to produce an RR version for $30,000. As far as the ZX-10 is concerned I am sure any determined owner could find someone to fit Ohlins suspension, trick wheels, race tune the engine, replica bodywork and so on. It's all out there somewhere.

I don't think the buzz about an RR is all about HPs. You are correct that any decent tuner can get 180hp out of the current 10R. It's the unobtanium like factory developed swingarm, linkage, T-clamps, throttle bodies, gear ratios etc. that make it an interesting rumour.

Mike Grainger's 12R is 1290ccs and has c200 rwhp. I was racing that day too on the flyers. He took the record off of a 1500cc carbon fibre Busa that had done 209 at a previous meet.

He did 12 consecutive 200+ runs back to back, most in the 207/208 range. That must be something of a record on a runway like this for a standardish bike and was a remarkable feat.

Dave O's is about 200 ccs more than this and is much much more tricked out.

Give this bike a 1375 kit and Dave O better watch out.

He asked if anyone knows a faster all motor bike. I gave him one example(their are more than one). He didn't say anything about cc's or who's bike is more tricked out...

He asked a simple question and I gave a simple answer.
