dubious (& trenace)
are you talking about bikes or fighting each other?
Well here is some more "coolant" to fire:
approximately I just guess 555,5 lbs curb weight for prototypes
No proof whatsoever
no URL
no KHI informants inside
just to make you boys happy...
let's just say that that is the maximum curb weight

I had and continue to have precisely no interest in arguing with dubious, or for that matter anyone on this subject, only exchanging information and thoughts. However, unfortunately there are a few that on seeing thoughts different than theirs, start acting as above.
Your 555.5 lb sounds like a reasonable "maximum" guess... so I suppose our best guessing-material available puts the curb weight at about 537 to about 555 lb with no way of knowing, till the bike is out, where it fits in that spectrum.
Incidentally, wherever it is, it in fairness deserves to have about 4.5 lb subtracted from it in comparisons with the Twelve, since it carries that much more gas -- in other words, for "equal fuel" comparisons, that amount would need to be subtracted.

Man... this bike is generating some SERIOUS buzz . I'm wondering if any "stats" that come out now are purposely misleading? I mean come on guys, with Zook possibly releasing an upgraded busa later in the year.... why not sandbag some numbers early then WOW everyone when the bike hits the streets. Sorta oposite what happened with the '12.

Fish it was interesting that you went there so quick! And nobody called it!
What is the 14? You tell us. Or do I have to go back and read between the lines?
Looks to me like just the last iteration of the 12 platform.
Set up to please MadMike on the strip
after a quick trip to Rob Muzzy, which pleases Rob and don't forget our home state boy Ryan he could use some love in Ft Wayne, IN too.
And once they put the touring package on sale you got ZX FATBOY ( me ) happy too.
Be nice to ride a hundred miles and be able to feel my extremeties.
So everyone is taken care of. These motorcycles is some emotional stuff ain't they?
Guys calling for a quantum leap in performance is like calling for a 6 blades instead of five.
They got to put the 5 blades out before they can put out the six blades don't they?
Does it shave all that much better than 4? Well a little better.
The cool thing is if they are following the rules,
which say don't release a new product until it's replacement is in development,
there is a seriously fast bike being born right now.
Bottom line is that it will be a little faster at the top and much quicker in the middle if I am reading it right. Am I reading it right?
That makes it the perfect old guy bike. Fast enough to whip your little Yamaha R1 ass on the street, fast enough to whip your misguided Busa owner ass at Maxton or Bonneville and comfortable enough for my fat ass to take a little Circle Tour around Lake Michigan and still be able to walk when it's done. Like a faster BMW at half the price without the bells and whistles, right Trenace?

"That makes it the perfect old guy bike."
Now you just ruined the sales of this bike.
Fortunately KHI was not betting on it solely.

zxfingyz, it does sound bad to say it that way but there's some truth to it, and that was the case for the 12 as well.
When you're younger the idea of flailing the hell out of a littler motor or over-tuning a bigger motor (too much cams, too big carbs and/or ports if applicable, poor midrange) has got appeal for some reason. Maybe it's stupidity, or lack of experience, or some temperamental thing but it's easy when young to say who gives a shit about anything but the very top end, I'm going to keep its neck wrung all the time, wound out. Of course that's not so, it won't really stay wrung out all the time, but often the young guy fantasizes this. Actually thinks it's somehow better. Of course there are exceptions, but I wasn't smart enough to be one. Top end hit was all I cared about.
The 12 did tend towards older demographics than literbikes and the same will likely be true for the 14.

I personally believe that the ZX-14 is what they should have made instead of the ZZR1200. They had the frame technology and motor design from when the ZX-12 was made. This year they should have made a ZX-14R based on the ZX-10R but bigger (more for people that can't fold themselves onto a ZX-10R but still want something sporty). They should still have this ZX-14 but as Fish said to have it more to go up against the BMW sports tourers and the like of the world. Just my opinion though. Seriously I just want the damn thing to be ready for purchase as I have a whole heap of money burning it's way through my pockets!!!!!

Reaper - if you have too much money I take donations to get the 14
In my opinion I'm glad that there is a 21th century motorcycle
Yes BMW designed new things 2004 and released them 2005-2006
but no new Busa, no new Kawi except the 14
Ideal would have been: Z1400, GTR-1400 and ZX-14R (and ZX-11R)
Also note that the new "basic bike" ER-6 is best what money can get today
I have a friend who is interested in that model (to replace VX-800 1983 model)

Motorcyclist mag. doesn't think that the old busa will be around for 07...read the description of the 06 busa in the Streetbike Buyers Guide of the new issue.
I was hoping not to have to spent alot of money making it right...what ever right means

There are a few remaining... the first batch available was about 80 shirts... I believe over 1/2 are spoken for, but I still have to do an inventory and count them again... Dont have time to do that right now... AS I mentioned earlier, spare the two members whos payments we are waiting on, all of the current orders were shipped on Saturday.
Next shipping dates would be this Thursday and then approx. the 24/25th of Feb.
If you order before Thursday we can get them out to you right away... after that you'll have to wait until we finish drinking and partying in Indy!
ANd BTW... I'm not joking when I say the shirts look great! They really did a good job for us... it was amazing to see that every shirt was made by one person.... because it was such a small run they didnt put them on their big automated press so I watched as one lady personally measured, re-measured and screened each shirt..
Was very cool to see how much attention to detail was paid.

Doesn't the Busa generate 99 lb/ft of torque, or did I read that wrong somewhere?
