The mag #s don't mean anything unless they put it on a dyno.

The fact they are quoting power at precisely 10500 and 7000, as they did with the 12R in it's official crank specs, and not peak power/torque suggests they may have their hands on the final spec sheet.

Or VPN is a good wind up merchant.

Yeah but it could be under or over rated, crank #s are hardly good for anything other than a rough guess as to what the bike might run.

Well the official specs for the 12 was 178hp at the crank.

Most did 162 ish at the back wheel. That would be a good average on a DJ 250.

So the loss was c.16hp or 9%

The 14s motor is as near as damn it a big 12R motor. Assuming the 9% is a good rough guide, which it usually is, the average 14 should be putting out c. 182rwhp.

That's potentially low to mid 190s stock with ram air.

147 KW = 197.3 Hp, and 98.5 ft/lbs @ 10500 RPM
138 Nm = 135.7 Hp, and 101.8 ft/lbs @ 7000 RPM

72 ft/lbs at 2000 rpm.
Nice fat torque curve!

Thanks VPN.

This has just come back from someone who has been to the Vienna Bike Show, reported on 200mph.

"""Sorry, no pics availabe, because I havn't got a digicam. The specs are from a datasheet, which was displayed in front of the ZX 14. As posted before one could read the following data: 1.352 ccm, 190 HP, with ram air 205 HP. Fuel tank capacity 22 litres. Data regarding weight of motorcycle were not available. Price of bike in Austria 17.450 Euros, with ABS 18.450 Euros. I sat on the cycle an balanced it betweeen my legs, it is certainly not a lightweight, as compared to a supersports bike like a Yam R1, Suzi GSXR 1000, or Kaw ZX 10. Regarding the seat height: I took the measurement by myself, at the beginning of the driver seat: Height is about 820 mm, unfortunately NOT lower. I am 186 cm tall, so I have no problems to reach the ground with my feet."""

Hmmmmm..........................
