Trenace isn't dry weight also without pipes? The bottom line is the Rolling weight out the door of the dealership. And there's NO way in the world it's as lite as the 12. 430 pounds is way more than wishful thinking. That's about like saying either of those 2 ladies over in the French woman thread in the Smack house weigh in at a lovely 115 pounds. My Gad man just look at them and it's clear that there's NO WAY ON EARTH! Same thing here. You can't hide that much weight when it's looking dead into your eyes

No, pipes are included.
But also, no, curb weight is not close to dry weight, nor is difference in curb weights necessarily equal to difference in dry weights even after accounting for difference in fuel capacity.
However, if a bike's successor is reported as much heavier or much lighter in dry weight than it's predecessor, it's a pretty good guess that the curb weight will also be changing in that same direction, though not necessarily by the exact same amount.
The 12's dry weight already differed from curb weight about as far as it's going to go... if the dry weight of the 14 really is given as 20 or 30 lb lighter than of the 12's, then I think it's a strong bet that the curb weight really is considerably lighter as well.
I don't know how you can eyeball the 14 and be sure it is heavier than the 12. I mean I don't see a single part that has to be heavier (though maybe the crank is, and the exhaust likely is though the 12's exhaust is already so heavy the difference if against the 14 probably isn't much), and the wheels are likely lighter.
Basically to me the weight of the 14 is still an unknown. It seems unlikely to me it's drastically lighter than the 12 though.

Time will tell I'm sure. It's not worth beating on anymore. I've got to go help Fish run the WalMart. We OWN that place I'm told so I better go and help him

info is 196kg dry, or about 232 kg wet,
and 183 hp at the wheel
AND
I hope that I'm wrong and that these numbers are right

183 hp at the rear wheel would be a very respectable jump forward -- nearly as big a jump as there's ever been in the top class actually. Much bigger than the gap between the Blackbird and the ZX-11, and maybe a little bigger than the jump between the Busa and the Blackbird. So that's a pretty respectable increment.

On the weights question, the difference there would be 36 kg. If by "wet" VPN means "curb," then that is similar to though a little greater than the ZX-12R's difference in dry vs curb weight, which was a 72.5 lb difference.
If the 14 carries a gallon more gas, then that would equalize things.
So as bizarrely high as the difference sounds, it's not unprecendented or impossible really.
That 232 kg wet would be 510 lb. No featherweight, but especially if it's with an extra gallon of gas (I don't know if that's the case) it would be a respectable improvement, particularly if the exhaust is heavier and thus represents an area of greater potential savings than the 12's exhaust, though that may not be the case as the 12's exhaust is quite heavy itself.

My 2002 ZX12 is 510 wet with 1 gallon of gas!!!...All it has for weight savings is an Akrapovic pipe and no mirrors, by the way the 510lbs. is with the tool bag in the back!!!
My 12 puts out 170-175 at the rear wheel and has gone 9.21 @ 152mph in the 1/4 mile with a 60" wheelbase!!!
The 14 has alot of potential, since it is probably a 59" wheelbase with more weight towards front of bike, a guess of 190hp at the wheel with an Akrapovic pipe and MR9 fuel, weigh about 495 wet with an Akrapovic pipe and 1 gallon of gas...Now, slammed for DragRacing with the Akrapovic pipe, gearing and MR9 fuel the ZX14 will be going 8.90s !!!
You'll see!!!...The Busa guys will be crying

Gary, a dealer spewing #'s at this point is nothing more than a sales tactic. No real figures have been released. If they had, then everyone would know.
Anything more right now is pure conjecture.

Fish is right but I've got afeeling,
This bike is looking pretty fucking good to me, I am thinking at my age the 10 is just too track focused for me,
I love the twisties, but how much faster can I ride that shit, in California they cut the roads right through the mountains so in some right handers you have a milli second to see what's ahead.
I think Kawa has appreciably improved the handling over the 12, lower weight by 50lbs?, mass centralization and better comfort, what's not to like? The front, fuck, who sees that when your sailing in calm air at a buck fifty?

I also phoned to the importer, Sumeko
The "Kawi" person there told that they can confirm
prototype bike seat height 805mm
Everything else about power, etc, are educated guesses
BUT the great torque at 2000 is confirmed
we just have to wait longer for the confirmed figures
mean while - let the speculations continue - it's fun!
AND
it is quite possible that Kawasaki wants to hide the true figures from Suzuki as long as possible - be
