RE: ZX14.net

If you read across many of the boards on the internet you will find stuff that does not apply to motorcycles, some of it could be classified as other. I am a proud member of the site and it is one of the most structured motorcycle based forums on the entire web. You are correct it is not a place to call home for everyone and that was the intention of the site in the first place. It was not made to compete with any other site, it was itended to have a new format which is geared to keep the focus on motorcycle discussion directed at the ZX-14. Your reaction is most likely a sign of what the site does not want, so I guess the program is working. Please enjoy your time here.

Oh boy!! You've got 86 members and a big 581 posts! Obviously I would pay $15 to get in on that WEALTH of information!

Versus only 5564 members here and over 220,000 posts (or on the ZX-14 section alone, over 2800 posts.)

It's obvious where the "go to" site is!

Yes, you'll be getting my $15 just any day now!

(BTW, congratulations on the big $1290 you've pulled in with those 86 memberships... you're quite the typhoon!)

This is not necessary...

I got three emails that this was going on this site. I am the owner of ZX14.NET. I am not sure how we got here but I will be the first to say it is not my wish to get into a debate over my site and yours. Just to clear the air, we have media rights through Kawasaki and all of our info is from their site and there are 14,000 other web sites with ZX-14 info, the same info we all already have and I am sure is posted here as well. There is no new info right now. The press bike's are due to be delivered mid month, I think the 12th. then we will see some articles and the buzz will truly start then.

Our sponsors also have the inside track on information and we pool from them as well. Please do me favor and end this now. It's a different program for a specific reason. There is no need to have a bashing war here. We never discuss other sites because we do not have to we are not in competition we just use web rankings as our guide. I even deleted a thread that was linked from here the other day to avoid this kind mess. This web site was around long before we came along and I commend your member base and all your efforts. I hope this clears the air.

Please ride safe and enjoy your motorcycles.

I'm also a member of the site. Why, because living here in Australia we are not privileged enough to get decent information from Kawasaki let alone see the bike. We've had two bike shows over the last two months, one in Perth and one in Sydney. The Perth display was a complete joke, and as I knew the bike was not going to be shown in Sydney I didn't fly across to the east to attend that one either. But if it had been there I would have gladly paid whatever it cost for a return flight.

All I want is information, er correct that, plausible speculation, because that's all these sites can offer at the moment. I want to know about what this bike is going to be like so I can be armed with the best information when the time comes to pay for my order. It may even end up being as resourceful as www.bigbikeworld.com for the ZX-11 members amongst us. People here have seen the bike, have sat on it and got the general feel about it. But everything after that is a guess. All forums start somewhere and it's nice not to have to wade through 14 lvls of bullshit to find what you are looking for. And no, I'm not try to justify my $15.00 that I spent, I'm a motorcycle enthusiast and I'm willing to pay for the information that interests me.

As far as I've read only one post has a link to this website concerning the Seattle motor show stating how good the quality of the pictures were.

We have had 17,325 visitors and we only have 80 members. I know the fee is an issue for many. But it's that way for a reason and we will probably drown because of it, so be it. I understand your perspective trust me. It's just another approach. I would rather have friends here, like neighbors. Enough from me.

You must think everyone here is stupid.

It is a known art to rig Google rankings, by which I mean to do things having nothing to with the quality of the site or how much people use it that increase the ranking. I doubt anyone here bothers to do those tricks. So you have done so, and gotten a ranking despite having only 86 members, far less articles, and therefore obviously not meriting the ranking.

Why don't you go away? I don't think anyone here is interested in you, except in finding you a joke and/or an ill-advised and absurd waste of money.

Greg,

Like I said we dont want to argue or debate with you. We allow our members the right to speak freely, and they are giving you some pretty important feedback. We have no ill will towards you or your site, so please dont get the wrong idea.

You have to expect that people will question you when you throw around claims of being #1 or the biggest etc, when it's clearly obvious to all the readers that there are many other ZX-14 websites in existence that are larger and busier than yours. Although Google search rankings are a way of estimating popularity, websites such as yours can pay for placement, thereby skewing such ratings. There are many other more reliable metrics involved in website ranking.

As I said earlier, we really do hope your tours are a success, and we too look forward to riding the ZX-14.

-relax... the boys are just shooting the shit and the last thing I want is to have a rift in the ZX-14 community before we even get our hands on the bike.

I agree with you totally and yes we spent some money with Google ads as do you. Rank and Rate are two different words and I know this site rates a whole lot higher than mine, it was expected from the start. I would rather peacefully exist as we were. I am sure we knew this would come to head sooner or later. It's over in my book. I have all the respect for what you have done and remember, I came to you for advice six months ago, so enough is enough on my end. Maybe we can have a ride and share a beer sometime. I understand the big picture, just consider my site a little brother. Ok.

Facts?? What facts? I remember ANOTHER ZX12 site boasting about "ratings" and how that owner valued them. Even though as a whole the contributions, events, and overall knowledge base was greater on this site. What was even funnier was the fact that we could log on and vote that turd of a site down in the ratings....lol... just because we can.
Claiming you're #1 and backing it up are 2 entirely different things.

Will your site draw folks from thousands of miles just to ride with a few folks?
Will your be able to draw 70+ bikes at a premier event?
Can your site sustain relationships between posters, even if they dont own a bike related to your site?

Im going to guess NO.

Get over yourself and your google stats. The LAST freaking place I look for bike information is google.

At the first hint of protest.... you give up like a pussy and ask for your account to be deleted.
I dont think I want to be apart of an online community that has a pussy for an owner...let alone pay $15 for one.

What kind of bike do you ride now? What about previous bikes since 1999?
