Photos from Fort Worth

Just got back from the Fort Worth motorcycle show. They had all three colors of the ZX-14 on display, they were BEAUTIFUL! I was really impressed with the Blue bike - none of the photos that I've seen do it justice - it's beautiful in person. I hear it's the same blue that's been offered on the ZX-12R before, but I haven't ever seen it.

The other major thing that impressed me is the weight. While I have no idea what the actual weight is, I can tell you that it feels noticably lighter than my ZZ-R1200. Yes, I was only stationary, and the 14 was dry, but it REALLY feels good. I can't wait to see what it tips the scales at. I even talked to one of the Kawi reps there who has had a ZX-12R for a few years, he said that he noticed the lightness too. He wouldn't guess a weight, but he says it feels better than his 12 in a "stationary comparison".

I took quite a few pictures, trying not to duplicate all of the "same angles" that we've all seen before. I'm going to try to get them posted here by Sunday morning.

Sorry - I'm not going to put them up until I can put a watermark on them. I thought I installed Photoshop on my home computer when I rebuilt it a few months back, but I guess I forgot. I've got to run to work and p/u the CD, install that, then I'll be good to go.

Sorry for the delay...

Matt

It's possible I'm the only one that experiences this, in which case, never mind.

But when threads are posted that have huge numbers of pics, it really gives the computer a lot of problem, as it tries to load ALL the pics of a webpage into memory. And when there are really a lot of pics, that can be an overload.

For example, Beans posted a thread that he said had 400 pics (or something) in it, and that one flat crashed my computer every time. Couldn't even read that thread.

Maybe it would be a good idea to limit to something like 10 big pics per thread? If others have the same problem? Or some number less than in this "New Fort Worth" thread, as it also went past what the limit is for my computer. (Which isn't a POS, cost $2K, but that was four years ago but still is Windows XP. 128 Megs I think, can't upgrade due to that type of memory not being sold anymore.)

trenance - Yes, bboards like this aren't the greatest for posting pictures... especially the crappy ones where there is no place to actually upload photos to. You can look at the photos individually at the yahoo group, http://groups.yahoo.com/group/zx-14.

hey man, first of all please dont take this the wrong way...im not gonna bash at ya, just hear me out...

you chose to join this forum, and become a part of this community. a community is only as good as its members. we do not come onto your yahoo board and spam on there with messages saying "oh hey check out bikeland.org if you want to see somethin" so please dont come onto here saying to goto your board to see some pics.

yes, there are some forums out there that allow you to upload pics. but the cost of that is bandwidth and your not footin' the bill for a forum this large. i imagine the bandwidth bill is staggering alone. with the yahoo board ur using, that is free with yahoo so u dont see those costs. i looked at ur photo album in there, and u are near the maximum allowed usage in mb's for the photos, so even yahoo doesnt want to give u an unlimited source of pic hosting.

please, by all means, go ahead and watermark your photos if u feel that is necessary. maybe just do it a little more tastefully, but it pushes the envenlope of taste when i see it as blatant advertising for ur yahoo board.

no need to flame the forum here by referring to this place as "crappy" cause you dont have to be here. you chose to sign up and post here.

i personally hope u dont feel deterred from staying on this forum, but please oh please quit advertising on here.

Points taken, thank you for taking the time to respond in a tasteful manner and actually making reasonable comments.

Just to make sure we are all on the same page here: I did not make that statement, far from it. I simply put a watermark on the photo with a url to an alternate location to look for ZX-14 information and photos.

My original intention was to post a handful of good-quality photos with detail for everyone to enjoy. Apparently my watermark and picture size got under some people's skin and they decided to go off like jeuveniles... that really wasn't necessary.

I can appreciate your comment about advertising here, and the way you made your statement. Constructive comments get the point across much more effectively than whining and crying.

as a sidenote, other than the photos you took, all the others you have are from other websites ... infact they are all viewable from here...

which BTW is the largest ZX-14 website online (right now)
