I dont care what anyone says, that bike is beautiful!
It looks a little longer than the 12, but shorter and narrower (from tank back)
than the 12. A SUPER all around bike capable of any riding task?
Can't wait to see what it can do.

Actually I'd thought a centerstand was announced as optional.

Yeah. At least in Europe, centerstand is optional, along with ABS. No word for US market though?

I think it's Kawi marketing mistake.
No one knows why doesn't Kawi globally name new bike like "ZZXR-1400"
(new super sport multipurpose bike model line against ZX-?R sport bikes and ZZR sport tourers)
or another way simply "BANZAI Ninja ZX-14R" (not ordinary follower of ZX-12R and ZX-10R, like positioning of Hayabusa GSX-R1300 & Black Bird CBR1100XX superbikes in Suzuki & Honda sport bike model lines)
and begin sell it with all possible options around world.

OK....Help me here. There's a shot that shows the front right brake rotor up close and it looks to have a speedometer wheel or gear on it. If that's so, then why is there a cable going into the countersprocket cover on the left side? That's where they pick it up on the ZX-9R models?

Anti-lock braking sensor, not speedometer sensor.
I suppose it's true that one could have it serve double duty for the speedometer as well, but apparently that's not the case if there's a countershaft sensor.
Perhaps the countershaft sensor was still desired because comparing countershaft speed vs crankshaft speed might be (I do not know) how the gear selection is sensed.
Another reason could be that since the ABS is optional, the bikes that don't have the ABS can't rely on that sensor for the speedometer, and so the countershaft sensor is needed. And it wouldn't make sense for some bikes to run the speedo one way and some the other, so they're all of off the countershaft sensor, if that's correct.
