Re-body the 14...

Ok, I'm in...

I have the technology in the shop to do a complete re-body on this damn thing... and I'll
do it on one condition...

This bitch better be fast and make us proud, or I won't bother.

We have Pro-E on board, and a robotic arm with a milling drill attachment. So any plugs
I make will have a perfect fit and finish... and from those we can pull molds off to make
parts...

Below is a picture of the machine making a new part out of tooling foam.... I was making
a new front bumper for the Ford F-250/350 that has storage in it...called "Bumperbox"

After we grind out a part in foam, we spray it with tooling gel that hardens up... then we
cut the part again and polish it... from there we wax it, and make a mold off the part.

Once the molds are done, we can make parts, but they would be fiberglass, not plastic.
And naturally, we'd try to make it more like a sportbike...

Some of you guys that are good with photoshop might want to start in with your
suggestions...

Jere

Actually I am wondering if ZX-12R body panels might not already fit, or be very close to doing so.

Potentially a design very like the 12 but whatever fractions of an inch different that might be needed, would be a good thing.

However, something more modern, more like a 2004-2005 ZX-10 could be a good thing too. Actually I would prefer something that was in the current ZX-6R (sans undertail pipes) and C-model ZX-10 family, or ZX-RR family (that would be the ultimate but for the problem of lights) to a simple ZX-12R clone.

(To get the simple ZX-12R clone, might make more sense to just adapt ZX-12R panels to fit.)

The one thing about the 12's design that I never did like too much, though it's not too bad, is the tail. Better than the Bugly's tail for sure, better than this ZX-14 tail for sure, but still a little big, though there's nothing non-functional about that.

One thing would be to make it where you could service the bike without having to
strip all the panels off... oil filter etc..

And yes, the tail on the 12 is way too bulky...

Good ideas Tren... and now it make things worse... It could be that some panels off
other brand bikes mught work as well... like a R1 tail etc... but then we'd have a bastard
looking machine...

I think it will end up with a full re-body to look fresh... and not copy someone else...

Everyone's taste of what they want will differ...

As for me, I want comfort, good handling (not necessarliy track ready)... POWER... with a
sportbike look.

I myself prefer a lean look rather than a bulky look... and if I see some engine, well, that's
a good thing... same with some pipes showing here and there... but NOT dual mufflers!!!!

Damn Jere I step away for a few hours to clean up my 12 for tomorrows ride only to come back and find out that you have a damn proto typing company? Is there anything else you feel like sharing? Simple stuff like you own an adult film studio! Or perhaps you care to tell us all where Hoffa really is

By the way thanks for coming thru with this offer I'm sure we'll figure out something. Look Out Japan HillBilly engineering firm is about to Fix Yur Sheeeot!!!!!!!

Sorry Gunner.... I thought you knew that I design and build all kinds of shit....

www.jd3.com is one of my websites to see what like to do....

I built 13 IDENTICAL replicas of the Ferrari Testarossa before they jumped on me.... and
if I can do a spot on replica of that car, a friggin bike is a piece of cake!!!

I got a chuckle out of your firm name.... "Hillbilly Engineering" hahahahaha

So the big question is... do we simply do a racebike version... or do we go off with some
sort of futuristic looking wild thing...????

Or better yet, some sort of paramilitary-stealth fighter stuff???

Jere

PS I'd like to do an adult film biz... got any hot chickadees???

Me and you need to live closer. We could really build some wild shit. You seem to do just fine on your own, but I could mix in a few Chain Guns for a little Snap Crackel POP!!!!!!!!
We WOULD end up dead or in JAIL!!!!!!!!!!! Either way it would be a hell of a lot of fun finding out which.

238, please excuse the crudity of the model, I didn't have time to build it to scale or paint it... but this is supposed to represent a 14 with stock upper cowl (though we could consider one with only the center lights), a lower cowl that is like the stock 14 in its forward outer contour but the rest of it is like a 12, with stock 14 "gas tank cover" and actual gas tank cover, and 12 subframe and tail.

Of course the exhaust hanger is just sitting in the middle of nowhere, and there are a lot of other defects but the shape still does give the overall idea:

Tren... that works for me! Now that's a SPORTBIKE, not a commuter bus...

I call the new bike CB (commuter bus)

Any exhaust looking good on the 12 would look good on this I think... but the manufacturer would have to make a distinct model almost for sure for the 14, on the assumption of greater height between bottom of oil pan and the exhaust ports.

Getting very interesting already. Lots to look forward to.
I would buy that 14 with the 12R panels on it.......and a 4 into 1. That sidewinder is wicked, but I like the twisties too much for that.
