ZX-12R and ZZR 1200 Officially dead; Announcement here... Just got the confirmation from KMC that the 12R and the ZZR are both officially dropped from the model year 2006. These models will no longer be manufactured for any market.
The Concours is still available as a 2006 model with an MSRP of $8499.

At least my next bike is OK ZRX12000!! SInce I raced a Z-1R and ran against and beat some of the Real KZ1000R Race Bikes that cost in the early 80's $12,000 (a lot of money when the KZ1000 cost $3,200 and a new 1984 GPZ900R cost $4,395). I want a bike that stimulates me to look at it and when that runs out, I can always put a turbo on it

Ok I dont understand - maybe because I havent been into the motorcycle industry for as long as everyone on the forum - but please explain this.
Kawi is dropping the 12R out of the model lineup for whatever reason - but why did they raise the MSRP on the 2005 model? What is their (Kawi) reasoning on that? If sales of the12 havent been that good, why would they expect to increase sales by raising the price, ESPECIALLY if they knew this was the last model year. Now of course, perhaps they didnt have intentions of dropping the 12 until recently, but I would find that hard to believe as the 14 obviously has been R&D'd for quite some time now I am safely presuming.
And how will this effect the existing 12 market out there? At what point does a bike become a classic or start to increase overall value? I figured in a couple years, the secondary market of 12 parts on ebay would be increased in overall value - or am I wrong thinking this?
