What color 14 do you like best? Since there is no poll option on this side...your choices seem to be black, red, and blue?

I like the black color, black as in the fucking bigass bag you stick over this bike to hide it's ugliness!

Either black or red, red would depend on becoming all red and without the damn fins... black would be better without the fins too.
On further thought and a little photo 'chopping, to me there's no doubt that, personally,
#1: Way better for the side strakes to go
#2: That panel and the resulting overall look and lines of the bike is way better when it's in glossy black -- for example a glossy black matching the glossy black of the black bike. True whether talking about a black or red bike.
Particularly with the black bike, the lines and shape pull together when that panel is gloss black, don't pull together when not.
#3: Red bike does much better when the upper part of the tail piece stays red, but the lower part switches to glossy black.
#4: The back part of the under fairing (near the rear tire) is horrid and should be got rid of.
#5: Of course different exhaust but that is typical for most bikes, including most did not like the 12's stock exhaust, so big deal there.
All easily fixable by an owner probably, except perhaps for getting rid of the side strakes. Could be a project there, but hard to believe it would be undoable.
Red is chopped for no strakes, panel stays flat black but has fairly natural play of light. Lower part of tail changed to gloss black. Don't know why the image quality went shitty on the red paint, damaging the color, please ignore that.
Black is chopped for no strakes, glossy black panel but did not bother with effects of light, also went stealth:

The "desert" pic, no strakes, stealth, fairing lowers gloss black also. That flat black is no good IMO:
EDIT: Does this pic and the two above work for anyone but myself? Solis does give a strange URL for them. If it doesn't work then I need to find another place to host pics.

I think I want the clear color....as in invisible. They really made my decision easy rather the 12/14 or 10r with this ugly ass bike. Thanks Kawasaki

Actually a gloss black frame would help the bike too, as would gloss black lower cowl. It needs to be pulled together: the light colored frames and flat black panels and lower cowl interfere with that.

Yea, Get Hans busy with some carbon parts and some slashing here and there and she might not be as bad, BUT!!!! she's no 12R......EVER

Damn Trenace, all of a sudden that red bike is looking like a possibility.4-2-1 high mount exhaust and fix those panels like your chop and i might be in.I still hate the the 2 pieces of plastic meeting in the center of tank

I agree... from the technical aspect I understand it, as it's matching the line of the tank and will require less bodywork-messing to tip the tank up, but, if that were all one piece ("traditional tank" all the way down to underseat part) it would look better.
Or, failing that, imitate retro and have a "gas tank cover" that mostly isn't, and then a sidepanel that;s mostly really a gas tank cover... Kawasaki went for the "more honest" solution but the more traditional-appearing one -- strictly in terms of how those panels are divided -- would have had the lines flowing better.
Plus side of the actual approach is, no longer the minor PITA of removing the "gas tank cover that mostly isn't" to be able to tip the tank.

It would have been sacrilegious to paint that fucking ugly sow... Kawi racing green...
The best color is ....
INVISIBLE....
So I don't have to look at the hideous thing.... oh make this bad dream go away...
I waited 6 years for a monster ZX-14R... and they give me dog shit...

I just don't like the look of the plastic.Take away all those lights and its a dull finish. And whats up with the foot peg bracket?Looks like removable handrails, and what are they doing not coming out with the faster green?

I like the blue...If i were to get it in 2006, I would have the bottom fairing and side panels painted blue...I think that would make it look finished!!!

The black from a sideview don't look that bad with those black fins gone.
Put a 4 into 1 Akrapovic get rid of the fins below the gas tank fit some 12r lights in her .And a chrome rear hugger to match the pipes.I mean black.
What were they thinking two chrome cans? They should of put the new 10r exhaust on it or something besides that.

Probably black, allthow I love the 12r blue like eastbaydave's. But I'm thinking maybe a custom paint in dark metalic charcoal. Going to have to see it up close first.
