12 vs 14 keeping my 12! The new 1400 is probably only going to rev to 11,000rpms.. With an ignition module you can get your 12 to rev to 12,300rpm's and still be at just about peak power with an Akrapovic pipe..(mine does) with a set of cams 383/369 lift quiet as its kept a 12 in a good state of tune should walk the 14!!
1,000 bucks more into my 12 doesnt justifiy spending another $14,000 after its all said and done with goodies.. especially for only 10 more h.p. at the wheel..

I may own a 14 one day but for now I'm certainly not salivating over it like I did and do with my 74 Green Z1, or my 80 red/black CBX , or my 88 red/black ZX10, or my 96 ZX11, or my 00green ZX12R. For me besides the performance a bike has it also has to hit that raw nerve that says I Just Have To Have It, and gives you almost as much enjoyment looking at it (when the titles in your name) as riding it. The 14 whatever it is ZX14, ZZR14, ZX14R, ZRX14R just doesn't do it for me. I still get a knot in my stomach going for a ride on any of my bikes and will never sell one if I can help it. Besides I promised wifey that the 12 will be my last bike but you know what they say about promises. Hell I even bought back my first bike a 71 Triumph Tiger.

Well.. its too bad kawi pulled outta drag racing support. It would have been nice to see it run by Rickey or Ryan at the World Finals....
I know that I was sold on the 12 in Nov 99 when Rickey made those passes at Gainesville.

I think we will all have to wait for it to come out. go out and sit on it, test drive it, feel it out, also get some specs on it before we make that step. If the bike is fast as hell, then i guess the next step would be to decide if we are willing to get rid of our good looking bikes for the new 14 look. hmmm looks, speed, dam I have that already!!!!!

Yea hey whats up? I would not trade my 00' zx12r for any bike well maybe a y2k! but seriously the new bike has some interesting features but I don't see that hard edge
sport bike look on it,even if the first gen busa's are kinda ugly all by there selves and really
so next to a 00'/01' 1200 they still look mean, and if you see one comining you know what
it is. but this 14 must be aimed at drag racing/touring...maybe top speed but how many
people purchase simply for this?we who have ridden and raced (drag) 12's and 13's
know that it is easier to launch them busa's! they are lower and can be lowered more than any 12 I can make my fairing scrape from front to back... the 12 is just taller because
of the chassis.I know you guys are aware of this. any ways I had two 01' 12's and each was deristricted with muzzy,pc3r ,40hp n2o,cranck case mods, and they both were good for about 195 on my 210 mph speedo and not from a standing start but within a miles range.
unless I used the spray on the street and the track I could not pull ahead of a 99' busa
with exh.and pc2 or 00' 12 with exh. and pc2 the 12 was very chromed out with stock fender
and big ass signals! but once I got my hands on an almost brand new 00' 12 I rebuilt the whole bike and top end of motor in 1 week and took it out and I could tell right away this is special! the power is more abundant and they even sound diff.so now if I run into a 99' or another 00' it will be more evenly matched until I hit the horn button! those new 1000,s are
powerful, but the way I ride I would be wheeling every time I fired on it! thats why I stretched my latest bike.I like smoking the back tire as I turn corners! thanx for you patience it's been awhile. oh I did see 215mph on speedo

I'll have to go with Rob Muzzy on this one. I have a 14 ordered (reserved) and the 12 is for sale.
I would love to keep the 12, best damn bike I ever owned, but Im not a rich man.
I have someone comming to look at the 12 tonight. I think it will sell quick.
After all, right now its the best bike out there.

Im selling mine and getting a 14. If i can't sell by the time they come in, i'll trade but they never give you much at the dealer for your trade. I own a 02zx12 and an 04zx10 they are like apples and oranges. completely different feeling. the twelve will go for the 14 but im keeping the ten

How much HP did you pick up witht the CAMS? My akro/1361 also revs past 12,000 rpms and peaks @ 212 rwhp @ just over 11500 rpms. I've been wondering how much the CAMS would add

I have been looking at different touring bikes to go in the garage next to my ZX10. I have looked at alot of different supersport tourers as well. I will consider the new Zx14 as a superport touerer to buy in the spring depending on what way the aftermarket takes this bike. I dont need 200HP at the wheel, i need something that I can cruise the super slab for hours on. I have looked at the FJR, the ST's, the Godlwings, even the Ducati Multistrada and the new Beull Ulyses. If I can get hard bags a taller windshield, Helibars, good lighting, and a throttle meister, there may be a ZX14 ion my future, as I would really like to stiuck to a kawi. If not, then I may end up with a new Busa.....
I really like the Multistrada as well....
