Questions for Canucks in ON or QC
I have some questions for those who live in Quebec or Ontario. Currently looking to move to an area 1hr-1.5hr driving time to Ottawa. Would like to know which is the better insurance and overall situation for motorcyclists. I have a KDX 220r and 00 ZX12R I purchased new. I know the 12R is on Quebec's blacklist. I have many merits and hit 50 years young recently. I am coming from Manitoba where we have public insurance so a pretty different environment. General comments on the situation on the ground there would be very much appreciated. Which side of the Ottawa river is best from a motorcyclists point of view?
Starting our house hunt in earnest mid February, looking forward to seeing what the riding out east is really like, I only have a few bike trips through and Parry Sound Sportbike rally for reference.
Thanks

FBA is in Quebec he would know. Didn't know that they had an issue with the 12R? What about the 14?

In Ontario, private insurance often costs more, but in Quebec, the blacklist can make it difficult for a bike like your ZX12R. However, your good driving record may help lower rates in both provinces. Quebec has good roads and a big group of people who like biking, but their insurance rules are stricter. Ontario gives more freedom and less strict rules for bikes. If you want less trouble with insurance, Ontario could be the better choice.
