remote oil pump??
I have a zx12 in my dwarf car. I'm on the second one, the first one threw the #3 rod. I think it did this due to oil starvation so I've been considering a dry sump setup with a remote electric pump. I talked to someone at Weldon who said they have a pump that can take the heat however I don't know if it will handle the volume and pressure required to feed the zx12. My thinking was to use the stock pump to pump the oil into a resevoir then use the electric pump to feed the engine. Any comments/ suggestions?

i know there have been a few bikes that had the same problem, with #3 and 4 specifically i believe. not sure what they did to solve the problem. may be worth searching thru the ZX12rZone forum for some potential answers.

Chris, i dont know if it will help your problem on a zx12 but i have been running an ACCUSUMP on a zx 11 for 5 years and had excellant luck with it. It provides 2 1/2 qts of pressurized oil on demand. The tank is precharged with 7-15 lbs of airand will automatically feed the oil to the engine when needed. It might be worth checking into for your problem.

As I recall, Muzzy has a dry sump set up for the 12. It should be just what the docter ordered in your case.

Muzzys does have a dry sump kit for the 12 but its big bucks. If the motor is in a dwarf car I would go with the external oil return line from the head. To much oil is pooling up in the head and not draining back to the pan because the motors are mounted sideways.

The Accusump is an excellent no brainer backup.

Thanks!
I'm going to call summit today and order an accumulator.
One more question, what do you think about having the accumulator in the back (about 60 inches of line)? is this too far away from the motor?
Thanks for the help.

I would mount it directly adjacent to the engine, no more than 24" of line.
We do not sell them. We recommend the Master Lube accumulator 800-765-1243

Masterlube ordered!
I called Masterlube and ordered one. They spent about 20 mins on the phone explaining the technology and discussing my application. He even threw in a free pressure guage. He said he's trying to get Muzzys to add it to their catalog. I can't wait to install it!

Masterlube
I'm going to hook it where the oil light sending unit is at. Masterlube says hook up as close to the oil pump as possible.

Z12R in a Dwarf - that's a lot!
I am truly sorry to hear of your suffering bearings. I am in search of a low-priced ZX12R cylinder, probably damaged, for research; any suggestions?
BTW, Earlier I welded a number of ZX12R and various GSXR Peter D Dwarf oil pans.
Thanks,

Did you see the artical in one of the bike magazines Where a guy took one of those old kawasaki inline 6 cylinder motors and the cylinders are slanted so much foward he was able to mount another top end behind the original and thats how he made his v12. The motor was only 4 inchs longer than original. To top it off he fuel injected it....pretty cool.
He mounted it back in the original bike frame too.....
