being in the automotive industry this is hard to discuss without starting to foam at the mouth then put on a sack cloth , cover myslef with ashes then cry "whoa is me"
BUT yes ethanol can destroy some types of rubber and plastic found in many motorcycle fuel systems.
AND yes it will reduce your fuel milage
AND yes it does cost more to product in North America
AND yes it does produce and MUCH high carbon foot print than production of fossil fuels in North America
AND yes its just fucking retarted

no problems with ethanol in any of my bikes and I did 7,000 miles on the 600RR last year, 15,000 miles on the R1 in past two years...
and 4000 miles on the Connie 14 in the past 5 weeks.
I love ethanol!
fish you glad you bought your duc or you have buy's remorse after all this time?

remember when people bucked against "unleaded" fuel and said the world would come to an end and engines would wear out fast?
welcome change, don't fear it.
I love ethanol!

there was and still is an easy fix for cars that need leaded type fuel but there is no easy fix if ethanol fucks up your fuel system....
people should have a choice but this concept of forcing more expensive higher carbon foot print fuel on the public is FULL GAY
it ranks up there with diesel DPFs which are UBER GAY

yeah thekaz, truthfully i'm not for ethanol either, but I can take that side of the debate.
CR, its always about the money. the american farmer was costing uncle sam trillions in corn subsidies. so government said lets just have them grow fuel. and all the worlds food prices have skyrocketed since

I don't think so ... I have been running E85 on the '07 zx-14 street bike and the '06 zx-14 (1530 cc) race bike for a year. all using the stock fuel system . you would have to be running something from the '80s to have a problem with components. 5% increase in power , but worse fuel mileage.

Interesting...wonder if there is any scientific work done to confirm the average gains and harmless usage....5% seems high but anything close would be worth using.....
any dyno results?
Just asking...this fuel does not cost a whole lot and is accesible locally...
