Well . . . . . . thats cause at the 1/2 way point they started going downhill - and the big H-D
brakes really suck (I know cause i've owned to of em) their increased downhill speed was
not an option

...nah...I used to own an FLHTC that came with all things chrome and was twice-piped with fishttails, too ...I still own multiple non-HD bikes of different styles and purpose and I really miss my American icon of a bike ...I was the 3rd owner and sold it to my bro in the Islands when he absolutely had to have it ...I want to buy another one day, especially the ''09s and newer ...
...you perhaps misunderstand my original post, my objective observations and the spirit of my subjective opinions of some people who are themselves motorcyclists ...
.
...I sarcastically slammed non-HD bikes to convey a point some unfairly and ignorantly make against HDs and the folks who buy and ride them...the same could be applied to HD owners/riders who dismiss sportbike owners/riders, too...
...I still hold fast to what I wrote at the end of my original post: ...we are all riders...buy what you like, ride like you like...be good to each other out there on the road...I would like to think it benefits us to be more of us bikers than more of them cagers, yes?...
...anybody can ride a "fast" bike slow, but very few can ride a "slow" bike fast ...
....my feelings are fine, thank you

That doesn't make sense. I know 85 pound women that own and ride fat boy boat anchor harleys.

and I will be honest. I personally have a great fear of riding harleys.
(any bike that doesn't have enough pow-ah to safely enter an expressway I fear tremendously)

...all HDs accelerate adequately for freeway use...wouldn't you think the DOT and DMV would prevent its use on expressways if it didn't have enough power?...hell, all HDs will accelerate quicker 0-80 quicker than the average 3 or 4-banger econobox, but you don't see any complaints about those econoboxes being "unsafe"...
...as far as those 85lb women riding what you call boat-anchors, well kudos to them ...maybe they're too special for you?
...anyway, your comment "That doesen't make sense." has proven my point exactly about why I wrote "maybe some people aren't mentally or physically strong enough to ride an HD well, let alone ride one at all?..." and the perception some sportbikers have about anyone who rides an HD, that is, their perception "doesn't make sense"

I was going to buy a Harley....
then I decided I wanted to have fun !!.....
one more...
Yes one has to be mental to spend that much money on a slow motorcycle that vibrates your teeth off and has the equivalent modern technology of a door nob....
Hey was that wormy answering my post.??...I can't see him but I can smell him...
See !!! we do share a sense of humor (worm and I)...even if he...(I better not say) he might not find my humor funny....my apology if not you answering me worm..it just sounds like you...
In all seriousness I have rode harleys and was ok for cruising as any motorcycle...
if performance is not in your diet they cruise ok I guess....women sure like them.... haha

My stereo type of buying a Harley with extras
Be sure to get the matching ass less chaps
Buy a trailer too will come in handy half the time
Stock up on extra oil & absorbent
lock tight on everything
The louder your pipes the cooler you are
A good excuse not to shower
Beer guts rule
Then find a trendy weakened bar

Q: Why are Harley's some of the safest bikes on the road?
A: You can't go fast enough to hurt yourself....
Q: What do you get when you have 32 Harley owners in the same room?
A: full set of teeth.

Those roads are dead straight compared to the roads here. That is 130-140 between corners on a decent sport bike. Sorry Harley.

+1 there are so many cruisers out there that think they can out ride a sportbike.
Each bike has its own application . Use it for it's application lol!

What's the cheapest way to get another 50hp from your Harley?
Trade it in on a Kawasaki.
Why do Harleys have fringe?
So you can tell if they're moving.
What's the difference between a Harley taken to Daytona on a trailer and one that's being ridden there?
The one on the trailer is going about 30mph faster.
Why don't Harley riders wave at sportbike riders?
Because they don't want to drop their tools.
