Stewart takes Phoenix Supercross in tight battle with Reed – LIVE Webcast back online

If you were one of the 70,000 in Phoenix, Arizona’s Chase Stadium you saw a good fight for first between James Stewart and Chad Reed in the Supercross Main Event.

In the Lites main event #19 Jake Weimer Kawasaki got the holeshot only to lose the front end in the sixth lap and drop back to fifth place. Weimer ended the race in fourth place 6.6 seconds behind the race leader #10 Ryan Dungey Suzuki. Justin Brayton #114 KTM finished second and #116 Ryan Morais Kawasaki took third.

In the Supercross Main Event, Anaheim One first place winner #33 Josh Grant took the holeshot. James Stewart # 7 Yamaha took the lead in the first lap of the 20 lap race, and held the front position well within view of #1 Chad Reed Suzuki. Chad Reed challenged James Stewart in the last lap but couldn’t steal the first place finish from Stewart with only 0.59 seconds separating first and second place. Josh Grant #33 Yamaha ended the race in third. Forth place was won by Ivan Tedesco #9 Honda, fifth place Aaron Short #29 Honda and sixth Kevin Windham #14 Honda.

Supercross LIVE! Webcast is back, but now you've gotta pay. $39.95 buys you the entire Supercross season, or you can select individual races for less. The webcast lets you listen to live audio of the race. According to Feld’s Mark Abernathy, the decision to reinstate the webcast came at the last moment. If you’re out in the garage working on the bikes or cleaning out the cobwebs and want to listen to the Supercross via the web, now you can. Except for Daytona – that isn’t part of the package.

The Supercross series returns to Anaheim, California on January 17th, 2009.
