James Stewart to Factory Yamaha L&M Racing for 2008/09 Supercross!

At a press conference in Hollywood, California, L&M Racing's Team San Manuel Factory Yamaha team announced that #7 James Stewart will be riding Blue in the 450cc Supercross class for 2008/09. James is joined by his friend and new teammate Kyle Chisholm.

L&M Racing told BIkeland that "L&M Racing was formed in 2006 by Owner/Team Manager Larry Brooks and partner Mike Kranyak. L&M Racing's 2008 team, Team San Manuel Yamaha, consisted of 2004 and 2008 Supercross Champion Chad Reed and former West Coast Lites Champion Nathan Ramsey. Led by Brooks, a key component in the Jeremy McGrath/Chaparral Racing team's three-year championship reign in Supercross, Brooks’ race effort yielded the first and only independent team to ever win an AMA Supercross Series Championship. L&M is one of the most successful independently- owned and operated teams in professional Supercross racing today."

From L&M Racing...

L&M Racing's Larry Brooks and Mike Kranyak held an exclusive press conference and luncheon at 12 noon today, to formally announce the roll out for the team's 2009 season, their third professional Supercross season to date.

At the group's rooftop locale in Hollywood, CA, Team Owner and Manager Brooks announced the return of the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians in as the team's title sponsor for another two years.

Second up on the afternoon program was the announcement of the team's continuing collaboration with Yamaha Racing and the unveiling of the team's new 2009 YZ450F race bike.

Rounding out the presentation was the introduction of the 2009 Team San Manuel Yamaha riders AMA Champion James Stewart and Kyle Chisholm.

Stewart, also announced that, for the first time ever in his career, he would be competing in the 2009 Summer X Games as well as the Moto X World Championships in the Spring.

A visibly enthusiastic James Stewart had this to say about the prolific announcement, “this is all a big change for me but I am really excited about it all…the new team, San Manuel and the new bike!”

The press conference went for the duration of the 3 hours allotted with more than 100 guests in attendance and close to 30 media outlets represented.

Surprise ? That had to be the worst kept secret in the industry since about mid-way through the Outdoor season. It doesn't matter what color bike he rides, he's going to win everything again if he stays healthy (just like the GOAT always did).
