sorry, only atv i rode was a yamaha.
but i guess this is aimed more at dwarfs right? tell ya one thing, i would LOVE to stick a crate engine in my old datsun thats rusting out at a farm. as is with the big heavy engine, it weighs a mere 1040kg, with half a tank & me. besides the 12 engine is more powerful than the current 2,8 inline 6. if only i could figure out how to mate a driveshaft to the engine & make it strong enough to handle the weight of the car. prolly kill the clutch in like 2 days. but damn, i WANT to try that one day. throw a turbo on it. 300hp, 150ftlb, and like <800kg fully loaded. be a fsckin CART car! plus its pretty cheap comparitively.

maybe im not so crazy. anyone know if this would work?

Who needs a driveshaft?

You need a bunch of chain, a big fat welder and some sprockets....
Oh, and something that will cut open a rear end.

i just dont trust a chain drive on a 2000+ pound car, especially not one that long. but my biggest concern is the engine & especially clutch being able to hadnle such high loads all the time.

'70 datsun 1200 coupe

hey FrEEk, I have the same car in my shop. It's ripe for a zx 12. The old Datsun 1200 is pretty tired. I sell Dwarf car and mini sprint parts and this looks like a cool winter project.

I think a MRE clutch or some type of heavy duty drag racing unit will work. The drive shaft shouldn't be a problem with the drive shaft adapters we use for the dwarf cars. Having a full winning season with the dwarf car I think we know the do's and don'ts for this project.

cool! now i just gotta make some money & get back to my car in whistler. its a 240z tho, not a roadster (which i think is what u got right?). so a chunk heavier. got it that light jsut by stripping EVERYTHING out of it. is listed at about 2400+ pounds curb weight stock. let me know how yer project goes tho. ill have to remember the dwarf car adapter thingie. i tell ya, by the time im done w this car, its gonna rock! gonna replace the control arms (is that what theyr called? DAMN im fergetting car part names!) with the cromoly versions, of course the light wheels, replace hood, doors, hatch, fenders and quarters with fiverglas (or carbon if i can afford), all the usual stuff. this thing will fly! hm, now where can i get a bunch on money first....

1200 coupe

This is a small 2 door coupe. It has several SCCA road race championships in its class. This car is pre Datsun B-210 and is a little smaller than a B-210.

How would I attach a file of a picture of this car to ths message?
