Which bike to get now?

Hey Bikeland been awhile since I've been on. Looking for a liter bike to do some track days. Really don't like the front end of the new Honda but its got some good potential supposely after a ignition advance. Anyone have any suggestions? Been living in SC coast so no need for a bike with no curves or mountains but got to get me one itching really bad and have a deals gap trip planned need a bike asap..

Depends what you want. Do you need the latest greatest or is a 4-5 year old bike okay? I've got some dealer sites who are high volume used bike sellers also if you want to look. I think one is in Wisconsin and the other in Minnesota. I did see one older GSXR1000 on a dealer's website that I think is track only but has all the bling. Ohlins superbike front end, Ohlins rear, rear sets and all the usual go fast goodies.

Here's 1. I bought a couple of Gixxers from them earlier this year and imported them into Canada. Bikes were as advertised and ran great. The people I've sold them to are still happy with them.

Not that this is particularly helpful but... remember you won't be disappointed no matter which one you pick up. The big 4 all ahve great product out now (not to mention the others like Duc).

Never owned a Ducati or Honda, but if I was in your position my pecking order for a new bike would be:

Track ability: Ducati 1098
ZX-10R
CBR1000
GSXR 1K and R1 tied.

Street use: CBR1000
GSXR 1000
Duc 1098 and ZX10 tied

Depending on what fits you, your wallet, and your riding style is the important part. If you want the balls to the wall sheer power first and foremost, the ZX10R has zero equal- not even the ZX14 or 'Busa can match it 0-180mph. Sheer beauty, the 1098 wins hands down, with exceptional handling and braking to boot. The CBR 1000 is the best combination of all those traits, followed by the lower powered Gixxer 1K. Good luck, and you cant go wrong!

Thanks for asking - Man I bow to the litre bike every time I brake or turn, thanks! With the same rider (me), turning that big ZX14 reminds me of how slow sex is going to be when I'm 80.

I need pills for selling the 600, but it may be time for a "new" true track weapon in the stable thats most nimble!

675 Daytona? Hell with the run-of-the-mill rice bikes steve, go Euro trash! I'd already own a 675 AND a 1098 if I was normal human sized... I just gotta settle for making the 14 look like a 600 with me on it. This is from our last group ride- the guy to my far left in the black white n blue leathers is Krukov, he's 200 pounds, 6'1". Damn I'm a fat bastard...
