they could but they wont

they have always built what i call a 9/10 bike

even the new cb1000rr is down at least 15 HP

that last 1/10

of course they maintain reliabilty & almost any tuner can get that last little bit

the other thing is they DONT want to get into HP wars

that got the busa & 12's plums snipped

In the hyperbike wars the only 2 competitors left standing have spent the last decade dragging their proverbial dicks in the dirt. One just matches or barely beats the other in whats supposed to be the "unlimited" Big Dog class. More like nuetered class. I'd be dropping bombs tech and power wise every 4 years.....or at least one big-ass 8 year bomb like suzuki did with the orignal busa. The bikes are still fast as hell tho....and big brother hasn't ruled them out of existence yet, so I won't whine anymore

big brother hasnt done much as a result of a very stern look + threats in europe after an
escalation was feared. honda already had the blackbird out & it wasnt slow. a well tuned
& very reliable bike. few owners asked for more. yet look at the max. after having been around a couple of decades, & witness to much going on. yamaha could have entered the Smack Down arena. yet the vmax has gained weight, gained ugly, & is regulated. a 200hp moto can certainly go faster than 140 mph.
