0-180 Shootout! July '08 Cycle World surprise winner

Looks like the 'Busa and 14 owners might have to eat a little crow right now. The king of Speed is apparently the ZX-10. Followed by a (gulp!) Augusta!!! Whats the world coming to?

Hope they are legible...

good find! ZX10 is king of speed in straight line

I don't agree with ZX14 "sport-tourer" yet busa is "king of HP" I think they may be biased?

They just like the more aggressive seating position I think. They also didnt mention the stellar brakes of the 14, or the 'Busa brakes being significantly less than 'stellar' either. Oh well, I'll just have to show the 'Busa riders the error of there ways when i come across them in the twisties. lol

They said the 14 was a wallowy mess in the corners, they also put the bikes on a road course.

After all was said and done(street, 3 mile straight, road) they ranked the GSXR1000 in 1st, CBR in 2nd, don't remember the rest.

Yep, they gave the Gixxer the nod due to its street civility win along with its upper mid pack showing in the other categories. I personally disagree with that myself.

When me and my friends are blasting the mountain roads and I pull a pass on that Gixxer with my 14, only to get passed by Joe Smoe on his ZX10 I'll be praising the Gixxer? SURE.... Now I not only cant pass a well ridden 10 in the corners, he'll also eat me on the straights. So much for my "Flagship" ZX-14.

You think your '06 is fast, you should ride the '05 10R. That beast was, and still is, a favorite of hardcore riders/racers due to the no-holds-barred approach Kawi took to it. They refined the '06 down because the '05 scared off too many people. Now the '08 appears to have taken the mantle dropped by the '05, but even the '08 is a bit more refined (I hear) than that beast made in 2005.
