"Vaillant On a Roll With Three in a Row"
With the "Haggens Northwest CLAY CUP Nationals" at Deming Speedway less than a week away the VF Motorsports team are gaining momentum as Kiel Vaillant wins for the third straight week in a row this past Friday, 12 July. Kiel was again the "Fast Time " qualifier, heat-race winner and completely dominated the "A" Main Feature lapping the 16 car field up to fifth place. "We've been fine tuning the chassis set-up over the past few weeks with our Bilstein shocks and it's sure paying off. Kiels been very comfortable in the car and his driving has been superb", says crew chief and father Kirk.
The car will go under the microscope and wrench this week with a complete detailed inspection and service as they prepare for their biggest race of 2002. "We'll be looking for that 10 cent part that's about to fail and take us out of the running", says Kirk.
The team switched to the Kawasaki ZX-12R engine for their assault on the NMSA Championship this year and are glad they did. It's big power and reliability have made it the engine of choice in mini sprints and many other forms of racing. "We are one of the first to use the ZX-12R engine in a mini sprint. It took a lot of work but with help from Muzzy, Peter D Motorsports and others it's been well worth the effort," says Kirk.
Sponsorship for the VF Motorsports Mini Sprint team comes from Air Liquide' Canada, Maxima Racing Oils, Union 76, NGK, Bilstein, AirArms Industrial, Lordco Auto Parts, Fram, Holeshot Racing, Edmonds Batteries, Metal Mart, Mongoose Machine and Company 22.
