Parrot scammers...
I've got several Nigerian parrot scammers on the hook... hilarious emails I'm getting back from them!
quote:
Hello Dear,
Calvary greetings to you and your family.i would have loved to
give you a call but i have cool.our babies are
cute and adorable ready to go for adoption to any good home which will
promise to love and care for them.we am giving them out for since we
got down here in Cameroon, both my wife and i have
come to discover that we have less time to care for them due to the
state of our new job and our kids are still very young to provide the
birds with care and attention. As you know, this type of birds need a
lot of care
and companionship to keep them funky.well,i travailed down here with
my wife Susanne and our little girl(Ysabelle and Eliana)some weeks ago
for missionary work here in Cameroon under the command of North
American Baptist Conference for world outreach (NAB)
which will be lasting for over some months
hoping that these birds will keep our family company and make our home
very happy since birds are our favorite pets but now, there is an
urgent
need for us to ship them back home. This was a very difficult decision
for my family to come to but we have no option but to give them out for
adoption and continue to pray that God provides any body taking them
with the strength to take very good care of them. DNA sex
tested,proven female and male parrots,weaned,
vet checked and will come with their toys.very tamed and talking female and
male closed rung and come with hatch certificate,information/care sheet,
diet sheet, and all the help and advice i can give.,closed bonded and vet
checked with up to date vet records.they have been together for 13weeks
and are microchiped. My birds spend hours in an open 10x6 area
in our family room playing, Great temperament, and live in a Cage size
- 30"x30"x30" (length X width X height) The birds are used to perch living
or can be caged. Not biters or screamers but a busy, busy guys and are
familiar with the activities of a busy home.Do share on the dining table with
us. will come with a sample of their food combination and toys.
Our birds need a wide variety of food. They need pellets and seed mixes,
fresh fruits, vegetables, and table food as their diet. our birds will show
distinct preferences, but you must take control. they will gorge on Sunflower
seeds to the neglect of more nutritious food. they need extra calcium, as
they are unable to store it in their bones. Oranges, collard and/or mustard
greens, and cooked broccoli are excellent dietary supplements.
Such birds are the sweetest family member one should ever desire for.
they love to be played with and sharing companionship with household
members, kids and other pets too. we will be shipping them to you from
Douala city,Cameroon which will take a 5-6hours
flight and you will be responsible for their shipping fee.we are not out
to make money out of our birds but just need a home which will spoil
them with all the love, care and companionship in this world as i
already said and so will like you to adopt our babies for your self
and not for sale.find their pictures attached below this mail.
>how soon will you need
the birds?
>will you be able to spoil them with love
and care?
>where are you really located precisely so that i can find out
about the cost of shipping.
Regards From My Family And Stay Blessed While I Waiting On You To Get Back.
quote:
"Hello ,
I just read your mail regarding scarlet macaws.
I have a pair of scarlets that i need good and loving homes for them.
They are all hand fed, tamed and healthy.they are unrelated
and each single/pair comes with free cage, toys, health papers,
food sample, resource booklets, one year health guarantee
and more.I am asking $500.00 for a single,$800.00 for the pair
all including delivery to either your home or to a
closer airport for pick up.We live in Cottbus,Germany with the
birds. My husband and I run a Licensed Animal Rescue Zoo in
the French Province of Northern Cameroon and we are highly
in need of funds now,so we need to part with these birds to
raise some funds as soon as we can find good and lasting
home for them.i would have loved to talk to you better on phone
but i am suffering from an inner hearing problem
for some time now but you can reach my husband at anytime as he is
in Cameroon now on 00237 96727005 and you could talk it better with him.
Can i know where you are?with placing order i will need you to email your full home address,
delivery choice and the order of them you want.i still look forward to you then.
Thanks,Thurid. "
quote:

Turn the tables on them Fish. Get some money orders, cancel them, then send'em! hehe
Or if you are more sadistic, send me $200, I will give you a finger from one of them. You simply make sure they are different people, operating from different areas. Then arrange for a meeting with all of them at a neutral location. Have the one with the worst english (least educated = most violent) and have him get there a day earlier. In his envelope is this written in his dialect:
"Thief: I know you are stealing from me. But I will still pay you if you do my bidding. $200 to you if you mail me a finger off of one of the other 2 guys who will show up at this exact location, and recieve bright red envelopes just like yours tomorrow. Your choice of whose finger it is. You can even have the first guy to arrive help you on the third, I dont care. I want that finger and will very happily pay you for it. Send it priority mail and wrap it well."

There amazing pets..I feel funny even calling them pets..Smarter than most people i know and require as much as a five year old child as far as attention..I have had parrots for over 25 years and have taken in many from people who either abused them or just didnt have a clue..and the ones that used to be brought from all over the world back in the seventys had a 15 to 20% survival rate so most died a terrible death..Fry the fucks trying to make money on illegal pet trade..

I have one scammer on the hook still...
Jeff.. are those your birds? We saw a baby grey in a store yesterday... almost bought it...
Still considering it...
We had an Iguana for 12 years... I can't imagine an pet being more work than an iguana... I've read a ton from parrot owners about how much work they are... I wonder how many parrot owners have owned an iguana?
thoughts?

thoughts?
Funny you ask that i have had many iguana's as a matter of fact 11..and yes there my birds "maggie" the congo african grey and "Gena" the umbrella cockatoo...Greys are fantastic birds normally very quiet and when they do speak up its almost always human speech..Theres a huge amount of information on the net for training behavior..And if you have no parrot experience i recommend some reading and research before a purchase..But greys are my favorite they can be a little easyier to train then most but are also as smart as a 5 year old human..Ever seen alex the parrot trained by irene pepperberg for 35 years he just passed away..amazing bird..If you ever want to purchase a grey or any amazon species its very important to check out the breeder..Questions like how many generations is the bird..Was it properly adjusted to people while it was young so on and so fourth..Hand feeding stage is very important..The nice thing about greys is they require a lot less attention then say umbrellas or amazon parrrots..But in turn they are characters to be around..Most people screw up when they let the bird do what ever it wants to and the bird becomes confused and dominate..Pulling your hand away when they learn how to bite is a good example..after awile they learn to get what they want from actions and pretty soon they rule the house..So verbal and body language desipline is the key..Never ever ever hitting the bird then your a predator and then the bird never relaxes and starts showing signs of stress like plucking feathers etc..Herpetology was my major in college so i also have owned and still do reptiles.. Another very important part of owning a parrot is there diet some people think parrots only need seed to be happy..Thats so far from the truth they need fresh fruits and veggies daily..So if your willing to supply them with daily veggies and fruit and clean there cage daily and a min of 1 hour of direct attention a day for the next seventy or so years then your ready for a parrot...And yes there much more challenging to take care of then a iguana but also much more rewarding..Theres nothing like a well rounded parrot that loves its owners.. Can't imagine life without my birds..

Funny story: Brother has a couple of badass Minx cats. The biggest baddest one is notorious for catching birds, especially larger ones up to a full grown crow once. He has a mass grave for them in his back yard lol. Well, he was remodeling his house and hired a guy to do the mud, tape and texturing. Said guy had a big ass parrot that he brought over the last day to show my brother. I dont know what kind it was, but wholly crap the wingspan was huge and it stood at least 24" tall, with a beek the size of a soda can.
Put the bird on its perch by the partially open front door. In walks the cat a while later with a sparrow in its mouth, all cocky coming to show off how good a hunter he is. Makes it through the doorway and nearly to the parrots perch when it squaks at him "BRAUTTT! HERE KITTY KITTY! BRAUTTT!" While spreading his wings wide. The 'badass' cat took one long look at the giant cat killer over his head calling to him in human speak and left the dead bird, his ego, and a bunch of deep scratches in the new hardwood floors on his way out!
Didnt see his cat for 2 days. Was in hiding. Or maybe seeing a cat phsychologist - "It was just in your head, there is no giant talking bird...."
Damn that was the funniest shit I ever seen. My brother was worried the cat might attack the bird, too. lol
