Any good forums on them?

Forgot to mention, 06 and earlier years as the 07's still cost more than I'm willing to pay, and I don't care a bit for how they look.

I'm just getting ideas til next spring.

Broken frame spars? Sounds like a bad beginning for the 07's. Good luck on that.

check out the '06 yami FZ1. fuel injection, cartridge forks, aluminum frame and swing arm, 140HP, 160MPH.
It's winning so far in my naked bike pursuit

I don't really like the new FZ1. The previous model was famous for it's torque, it had a stout midrange. The newer one is based off the shorter stroke R1 motor. I also prefer the looks of a true naked bike, like the version sold in Europe.

What's it's wet weight sitting at with a full tank?

intend to test drive both, and the zrx soon. maybe I'll try the z1. but I'm not a big fan of the naked bike thing, just the riding position and touring prospects. with that said I'd be inclined to buy the optional lower fairing for the FZ1. I just wish it had a couple hundred more cc's

I had a Z1000 and sold it for a ZX14. I liked the bike but I had a few gripes.

I didn't like the transmision. It had a false nutral between 4th and 5th. On other Z1000 forums this was a common complaint and some owners said it went away when broken in. I had 4000 miles and it didn't go-away. It was not reconized by the factory as a problem. They said it was my falt. I didn't shift hard enough to engage the gears.(bullshit)

The power didn't come on till 5500rpm / 6000rpm This didn't change even after I piped and dynojetted it. I have a friend that used to road race his Z1000 and he installed a new cam set and valve springs and he said it was a torque monster after that.

other than that I loved the bike
