Doh!!!!
Running & Riding do not mix

Today I had a different kind of face plant.
Generally when I go out trail running, I run my line. For those of you that don't run this means that when you are out running, you run the line that you would ride your bike on. This is common with us Running/riding junkies as it seems to blend in nicely. Today it did not blend. 
As I was running along I came up to huge mud hole. In the middle of the mud hole was a nicely placed plank with big nails sticking out of it.  As I come upon this pond, I am thinking about how great it will be to ride my bike & How I am going to kick ass tommorrow. My foot hits the plank & catches one of the little nails & I am launched, I mean literally LAUNCHED into this massive mud puddle. I'm drenched from head to toe & remember those little nails? I have one impailed in my right knee & one through the fleshy part of my hand between my index & middle finger! OOOWWWW!!! 
So, I pick my self up, assess the damage, fiqure I am not so banged up that I should limp out to the access road & flag someone down. I decided to finish my run, bleeding & soaked cause MURPHY'S LAW SAYS I will have worse tommorrow if I go off my bike 200 kms from nowhere so I might as well suck it up & move on!!
Thanks for letting me vent. I am going to hide in my room & drink now to ease the pain....

Who would put a plank with big nails sticking out of it in the middle of a bike trail?
Someone who doesn't like bikes?
It could only be there in hopes to hurt someone.
DO you have a current tetanus?

The nails were only on the side & only bozo's like me step on the side of a wet plank
when they are running... 
I had a tetanus shot 2 years ago when I ripped my calf apart starting my trials bike with yoga pants on (bow, bow). Do we see a pattern here? Just a little accident prone..
