do a bit of research and you will find the early 1800's had frame problemss. I dont know about the last couple model years though.

The goldwing handles way better than a bike of it's size has a right to. Incredible acually! Definetly one of the best bikes ever built . I can ride one all day, get a room and still want to go out and ride. Lot's of bottom end torque, great brakes. You really need to drive one because it's hard to believe until you do. The bike is smooth as silk. The new ones don't have any frame issues, (02-04) . I've had a 02,03,04-now a 06 and not one problem out of any of them, and I ride the wheels off one. The internet is something: a guys bike overheats and it spreads like a wildfire with a 100 mph tailwind. If we would have had the internet in the 70's, GM and Ford would have been out of busness a long time ago. I would have to say the GL 1800 is the most amazing engine I've ever know. There is a guy in Raliegh that has a 2001 and it's getting ready to turn 300,000 with no issues at all.

I've been riding gl1800's since 03. I've had an 03,04,05,06 and I'm waiting for my 07. I haven't found a bike even close to being almost perfect. Gobs of torque. I installed some Cobra's...a little improvement in acceleration maybe...never tested...but the sound is awsome. I can ride it all day with a big smile on my face. I put a euro windsheld which is 5 inches lower than stock and a bit wider. By the way, putting a hitch and pulling a trailer does not void the waranty...I should know, I sell them...and I too have a trailer. It affects the driving distance by about 35 miles. I'm the sales manager for a Honda dealership in Quebec, Canada. My longest day aboard is two years ago when I left Myrtle Beach, SC at 9am and stopped at 12:30am in Watertown,NY because it was too cold to continue...it was only 35 degrees and I didn't want to risk crossing the thousand island bridge and hitting ice...I did 1000 miles that day. I look forward to my upcoming trip last week of april, first week of may. I'm riding down to Orlando to meet my parents who are seasonal campers there. I have only one thing missing that could be standard on the bike...an electric windsheild instead of the manually adjustable one. The only other bike I could consider for my riding preferences would be a Bmw R1200gs adventure.
