Bike wheels are over priced.
I've been dreaming about CF wheels on my 12 for years now. I was doing some surfing, and was struck w/how much the prices have increased. The last time I was looking @ BST CF wheels, they were under 3K, and the Marchesini mags have gone up too. What's even more striking is how much more bike wheels cost than car wheels. Personally, I think they're way over priced, and have decided to stick w/my spun aluminum PMs, so there....

Me too, but as long as people keep buying them at these prices they will continue to sell them at these prices.
And alot of exhaust systems are over priced too.

I think the manufactors see how much the Harley riders pay for accessories and figure sport bike rides are willing to pay the same.

Sportbike/racing wheels pre-dated Harley wheels by decades.

You can get aluminum rims for cars a lot cheaper, but they're not forged. The older, PM spun-aluminum ones weren't forged either I don't think.
Now aren't all the aftermarket motorcycle rims forged?
That combined with the fact you don't have the scale of economy with bikes like the car industry has.
