Old Man Bike

Well, I finally gave in and bought my bike for when I turn 50!

1984 ZN1300. 10K miles, been in storage for 15 or so years. Will post pics of the bike and the trip back home!

If you've never ridden a six cylinder bike, they are unbelievably smooth!

Well, the adventure begins. Flew in, got my baggage. Did a walk around of the bike, pretty much as I expected. Rode the bike out of town and parked my butt at a comfort inn for the night. I'll hit it early tomorrow and get some good miles in.

Made it to Elko, NV the first day. Another good 8 hours riding and I'll be where I want to be!

Got in yesterday around 1:30 in the afternoon. Fooking Nevada was COLD in the morning. Had to pull the riding suit off and store it once I got to Donner Summit, way too hot! I know one thing for sure, with the upright seating position, and no wind trying to rip my helmet off when I turned my head, I saw more scenery on this trip than any other.

Glad you made it back safe. Touring bikes have their appeal but I'm glad my old GL1500 has a new home. I wanna stick with the 14 and the Bosses . . . a Concours (sp) might be nice though.

Sounds good, you can try out some heavy iron at the same time. Something about having 500 hp thundering between your knees makes for a smile, not the same smile as you get from some proper engineering like the 14, but a smile nonetheless.
