Triumph Bag Recall Surprise, surprise!!!
It's the real deal. Triumph is doing a complete replacement on the hard luggage set for the Sprint ST. Since this is the prime reason why I decided to get rid of the bike, I may have to rethink it.
Big thumbs up for Lynwood Cycle Barn. Not only are they taking care of this warranty issue, they are covering the other various recalls that are out for the bike. I90 motorsports never called, sent me a flyer, anything regarding the other recalls...

Took it in for replacement of the hard luggage under warranty...They let me know there was a bunch other recalls to take care of, so I said 'cool', and left it with them...Five weeks go by...I finally get a call....
"Your bike is ready." "Oh, cool. So the hard luggage finally came in?" "Yep!" "Great, I'll be by next week to pick it up."
Get there, load up the bike. Take a close look..SAME OLD LUGGAGE!!
Go back inside. "It says right here on the repair order that you replaced the luggage." "Yep, we sure did!" "Umm...No you didn't. Look, here's the same old scratch on the inside of the luggage case as when I dropped it off." "Oh, let me check..." "Umm...It's not in yet. We got a set, but it's the wrong color." "Wrong color?? How the hell can it be the wrong color?? The only color on it is the trim pieces, that you take off and transfer to the new luggage, along with the locks!!"
Service guy looks paniced..."Umm...Umm..."
So I said. "Listen, just give me the luggage, I'll swap the stuff out at home and bring you back the old stuff tomorrow."
Service guy runs it past his manager...I took the new luggage home and did the swap yesterday afternoon. Took about 90 minutes. Had to drill out the backing plate rivets and disassemble the old locking system from the back side to get to the release pin for the lock cylinders. Then just put the old cylinders in the new luggage. I'll take the old luggage back to them today. ____________

Flimsy in every respect:
Thin, light plastic. bags would deform and not seal against weather
Holding straps for lids would pop off, cheap design
Latching mechanism to bike was goofy for the top bag...Would jam up the lock for the lid, causing it to open spontaneously while riding...
