10Hp increase on a ZX-6R for free. Old news?
This may be old news to some of you on here but here is a site that describes a proven way of getting an extra 10 hp out of 2005 ZX-6r by just shorting out two wires on the ECU
quote: What we will being doing is converting our North American ECU to Euro Specs. The 05 has an exhaust valve to control the flow of exhaust to get the most power possible. However, on US/CDN models they have a thing in there to adjust the valve at high rpm's to decrease the noise, due to US noise regulations. By adjusting this valve to we will hopefully give the bike 10-13hp gains on the top end.

damn, that's a pretty stout gain on a 600. anyone indicate how big the resulting volume increase is? given it passed euro requirements, i'm thinking pretty small.

No way. I did a very detailed test of exactly the same mod for one of the magazines recently. The gain is an average of 1 hp. Free power no doubt, but not even close to what is being claimed.
