Ceramic Rotors are here!!

Ahh, yes, UPS finally delivered those BrakeTech ceramic rotors, up the road at my cousin's place 4 days after their tracking showed they dropped it on my doorstep.

These things are damn pretty, better even than when I got the head back from porting. It should complement the jewelry that the Mikuni Racing (now AGRAS) rearsets and top clamp are quite nicely.

I doubt I'll sleep before I put them on the bike after work tomorrow morning, and I doubt more that I'll get the camera/computer interface fixed, so this will be a pictureless thread for a bit...........

Sorry KawFans, they are going on my Busa.

Yes, an expensive product does work.
BrakeTech ceramic rotors are the tits!!!!

I tried my best to wear thee pads to rotors, the advice is to do 5-10 stops at increasing lever pressure, when I got to the third stop the front tire was howling. Repeat as needed,.

These are the only brakes I've ever had on the bike where I haven't needed the adjuster set on "1", power and controllibity are exceptional. I haven't got the chance to test them completelty yet, but 5 straight 140 to 40 stops are effortless.

In a word, WOW!!!!

Yeah, I've been in touch with Jeff at Brake Tech for over a year, so I got an intro price.

I hate the word perfect, but goddam, this would be the best 2 grand to put into any bike.

Astonishing.

Was $1783 to my door, and a 3 hour install, cleaning everything and bleeding carefully.

Astonishing. Really.

The weights per rotor are:
Stock - 3.52 pounds
BrakeTech Superlite-- 2,76 pounds
Ceramic-- 1.44 pounds

The way the bike gets side to side now is unbelievable, the Dymag mag center/ aluminum rim wheel helps with that, too.

Once a Busa gets under 500lb wet, getting more weight off gets expensive, that's life.

If these are legal to use as aftermarket discs in a racing class somewhere, there will be a lot of racers getting these.
