Kawi- Listen up!

We want the GTR1400, not some ancient 1000cc sport tour. we want a sport tour that is better than the FJR1300 and the ST1300. Dont skimp on shit either. Give us suspension equal to or better than the FJR. Give us power better than the ZZR1200. Give us comfort features better than the ST13. Give us fit and finish better than the ST13. Give us the longevity/reliability of the ST1100. give us the fuel economy of the ZX11. Give us the GTR1400 SOON!

I am patiently waiting for this bike, while riding my ST1100. (200,000+ miles and going strong)

My 1993 ZX11 C4 got a constant 50-51mpg on sport tour trips, never drop below 45mpg. Did 36-37 in town.

I get 50-55 on the ZRX, stg3, full muzzy, pods and pulling a trailer.

There were pics out in one of last months rags of a supposed GTR14 with taller bars, shield, detachable hard bags and shaft drive.

Gotta be a photochop but a guy can dream cant he....

Rumours are that dealers have already received service bulletins on how to service the shaft drive and ABS (option). Other rumours are a price around $12K and as for when it will be ready I've seen both Fall '06 and May '07 (but seing what happened to the 14 I don't want to trust either of those dates).

These are the pictures I've seen (both artists' renditions):

Fish - I can see that you've registered the domain "gtr1400.net" already. Maybe when we get a bit closer to a release you'll start a dedicated forum for this model?

I'm thinking that a good set of bags (Givi) on a ZX14 (double bubble) might do the trick after all...At least till the GTR 1400 actually comes out...

No beetle bags?

The ZX14 with a doublebubble, handlebar risers, footpeg lowering brackets, and some decent hard bags may very well make a decent sport tour bike. A Corbin smuggler seat would also be a nice addition, along with heated grips. And yes it would make an awesome holdmeover until the GTR1400 shows up.

Nah, the beetle bags may look better, but i'd want bags I can toss a laptop case or helmet into...

Talked to Corbin, they are making seat and bags for the 14. The seat wil be modular, so you can run with it and the cover on the rear, I guess.

corbin is most likely building the seat model they call the smuggler. It is a popular seat with the ST11 and ST13 guys

Dealer manuals cover the Euro model. That has a center stand and ABS as an option - nothing to do with a GTR1400.

Not saying there won't be one, but if they pull the same stunt they tried with the ZZR1200, trying to foist a chain drive bike off as a tourer, the market may well just yawn.
